Chapter 537 — Chen Shutang's Wicked Idea
"Huh? Why are our two names so clear?" Su Ya suddenly noticed it too—many of the names on the stone tablet were no longer very legible, and some even had other people's names freshly carved over them.
But the names Yang Ce and Su Ya, like those of Chen Shutang, Zhou Yanning, and Lin Yanhe below, stood out so sharply, which naturally made Su Ya a little curious.
"Heh, it must be Mengyan—she probably traced over ours again when she came," Yang Hengye said.
"Mengyan is a good girl!" Su Ya nodded sincerely after hearing this. "Yang Ce, you should cherish her!"
"I will, I'll cherish every girl around me!" Yang Yu nodded and clenched his fist. "I won't let you down. Trust me, I'll definitely come back, and then I'll take you all traveling around the world!"
"I believe that day will come, and it's not far off!" Su Ya nodded.
After finishing lunch in the cafeteria, Chen Shutang, Zhou Yanning, and Lin Yanhe had nothing to do. Chen Shutang's heart began to itch again—she wanted to see what Su Ya and Yan were actually up to, yet felt a little too embarrassed to say so. She hesitated a moment before speaking: "Sister Lin, do you miss Yang Ce?"
"Ah... I..." Lin Yanhe was startled, not expecting Chen Shutang to spring such a question on her out of nowhere. "I... I miss him a little, I suppose..."
"And you, Jiajia?" Chen Shutang turned to ask Zhou Yanning.
"Me... I'm fine, really..." Zhou Yanning said, her face flushing red.
"Then how about we go home and see Yang Ce?" Chen Shutang suggested.
"Now? Go back?" Lin Yanhe was taken aback.
"Yes, now," Chen Shutang nodded.
"That's not such a good idea, is it? Su Ya is there too—if she and Yan are... doing something, we shouldn't intrude, should we?" Zhou Yanning really did not want to go; after all, she was afraid of disturbing Su Ya.
"It's fine, we'll slip back quietly. I'm sure you're curious too, aren't you?" Chen Shutang proposed.
"Well..." Zhou Yanning was instantly tempted. Thinking about how she had shown her video to Su Ya, she felt it would be rather unfair if she didn't go take a look at Su Ya in turn. With that thought, she asked Lin Yanhe, "Sister Lin, what do you say?"
"I... I'll go along with you..." Lin Yanhe said, blushing and squirming a little. She wasn't much good at this sort of thing—sneaking a look at Yang Ce and Su Ya felt somewhat improper no matter how you put it—but she had no ideas of her own, and since Chen Shutang and Zhou Yanning had both agreed, she naturally had nothing to say. She simply nodded in agreement.
"Great, since we're all of one mind, let's go!" Chen Shutang was raring to try.
The three girls—Chen Shutang, Lin Yanhe, and Zhou Yanning—left the cafeteria together and came to the school parking lot. Chen Shutang got into her Audi A5 and quietly drove back to Huashang Residential District, parking at the entrance of her own villa.
To keep things secret and avoid being spotted by Yang Ce, Chen Shutang didn't even dare park in the garage; she simply left the car beside the villa, along one side of the neighborhood road.
"Let's go, our adventure begins..." Chen Shutang felt like an explorer leading two teammates on an expedition, unable to be discovered by the enemy—the thrill of it was exhilarating.
Lin Yanhe and Zhou Yanning followed cautiously behind Chen Shutang. The three tiptoed to the outside of the villa. Chen Shutang was about to unlock the door with her key when she thought better of it! Su Ya was presumably in the living room watching TV—what if Yang Puqi came back and they ended up tangled together in the living room? If she walked in through the front door, wouldn't she catch them in the act?
That wouldn't matter much to her—at most it would be a bit awkward—but as for Heng and Su Ya, if she gave them a fright and left some psychological scar on their beautiful first time, that would be rather unfortunate.
At that thought, Chen Shutang waved her hand. "Let's go in through the back door, shall we?"
"The back door—that works too!" Zhou Yanning and Lin Yanhe also felt that entering through the front door was somewhat inappropriate; running into them would be terribly awkward. Best that Yang Ce and Su Ya not discover this at all.
The three tiptoed around to the back of the villa. This was the villa's back door, rarely used under normal circumstances. The door connected to the balcony off the first-floor kitchen and also served as a fire escape; ordinarily it was kept shut year-round.
But Chen Shutang, as one of the villa's mistresses, had a key. She took it out and carefully opened the back door.
The door was thick with dust, which cascaded down when it opened, nearly getting on Chen Shutang's clothes. She hurriedly dodged aside—and accidentally stepped on Sister Lin's foot...
"Aiya—" Lin Yanhe was about to cry out instinctively, but Zhou Yanning was quick; she clapped a hand over Lin Yanhe's mouth just in time to keep her from making a sound!
"That was close!" Chen Shutang patted her chest and said to Lin Yanhe apologetically, "Sorry, I stepped on you..."
"It's nothing—if anything, I nearly ruined everything," Lin Yanhe shook her head. "Sister Mengyan, why are you apologizing to me? Even if you stepped on me to death, I wouldn't complain..."
"Pfft—" Chen Shutang couldn't help laughing out loud at Lin Yanhe's words. Stepped to death? Sister Lin really was adorable—but how could she ever step her to death?
"All right, all right, let's get inside quickly. It's really dangerous out here—if the neighborhood security guards take us for thieves and shout, we'll be exposed!" Zhou Yanning said urgently, watching nervously as a security patrol cart approached from not far off.
"Oh, oh, oh—" Chen Shutang panicked too. She pulled Lin Yanhe onto the villa's balcony, waited for Zhou Yanning to come in as well, then hurriedly shut the balcony door and breathed a sigh of relief.
The three stood on the kitchen balcony without immediately going inside, instead standing there and straining their ears to listen for any sound from within the house.
But after listening for quite a while, the three heard nothing at all.
"Huh? Could they not be in the living room?" Chen Shutang said, puzzled.
"I don't know—I didn't hear anything either," Zhou Yanning said with a strange shake of her head, then asked Lin Yanhe, "What about you, Sister Lin?"
"I didn't hear anything either... Could they be upstairs in the bedroom?" Lin Yanhe guessed.
"That must be it. Good thing those two aren't fooling around in the living room—but this makes it easier for us to eavesdrop!" Chen Shutang giggled slyly. "Come on, shall we go upstairs?"
Chen Shutang realized that as the day drew nearer for Yang Ce to leave for Yunnan, her own mindset had shifted somewhat. Toward Heng and the women around him, she no longer felt the hostility she once had—she only wanted them to stand together and wait for Yang Juehuan's return.
