...
"Not coming out, huh."
"Fine. Then I'll force you out."
"Cat, can you sense it?"
"Meow-roar!" A giant white tiger clad in platinum-gold armor stood beside Shi Jin, its jeweled king-eyes imposing beyond measure.
I've more or less got it!
This Starry Void alien bug was far too cowardly.
Shi Jin had not expected that after half a year, the thing would not come out itself, but instead send out a whole swarm of clones.
And even after those clones were destroyed, there was still not the slightest stir—as if it dreaded some terrible foe out in the world.
But even the most cautious thinker is bound to slip up once. This Starry Void alien bug was still a bit too green.
The short-legged cat burned faith power, and the power of punishment was unleashed. Everyone hostile toward Shi Jin and his companions instantly became like lamps in the night, locked onto by the short-legged cat.
Amid the dense, tangled waves of hostility, the short-legged cat quickly locked onto one of them.
With so many clones destroyed, no matter how cowardly this Starry Void alien bug was, it could not possibly feel zero hostility.
"Meow-roar!!!" It looked toward Cen Yu, signaling that it had found the true body of the Starry Void alien bug.
Yet the short-legged cat blinked—there sure were a lot of people hostile toward us. More than just the Starry Void alien bug.
"Normal, normal." Shi Li said, "Your beastmaster is so outstanding—who knows how many young girls he's charmed. The hostility from their suitors alone is already enormous."
"Not to mention the whole pile of miscellaneous alien races."
"Meow-velous." The short-legged cat suddenly understood. That made sense.
Too outstanding—jealousy was unavoidable.
Shi Huan gave a faint laugh. When a person is in the spotlight, trouble follows. Who doesn't have a dark corner in their heart? But they were all small fry. From Shi Tan's heights, there was no need to fuss over children.
"As long as it's not one of those truly outrageous ones, ignore them. Let's deal with this little bug first," Shi Xu said.
...
A Cosmic Cavity is a kind of spatial tunnel that requires special ability to open. Its user can not only travel through space via the Cosmic Cavity, but also dwell within it.
At this moment, a monster with purple armored skin, shaped like an upright giant isopod, was panting faintly.
Its shell armor looked exceedingly hard, and it had two human-like arms ending in sharp claws. The alien bug's purple eyes flickered, and then it used Endure.
It gave up on the idea of going out itself.
Its clones had been dealt with so easily—that proved a powerful enemy lurked outside. Better to keep resting and recuperating a while longer.
Once it had split off stronger clones, it would send them out to scout for information.
So the Starry Void alien bug thought—but the next moment, its soul and spirit were struck by a violent stab of pain. The intense agony wrung a shriek from the Starry Void alien bug.
"Eeeeee————" The piercing scream echoed through the Cosmic Cavity.
After a moment, the pain stopped. The Starry Void alien bug breathed deeply. In truth, it had not suffered much serious damage; compared to the harm, the sudden agony had frightened it far more.
"Eee———" The armored isopod was startled again and again. Could it be that its location had been discovered?
"Eee———" The next moment, the armored isopod suffered severe mental damage once more, forcing another cry from it.
Fierce rage surged in the armored isopod's heart. Who? Just who was doing this?
Forget it...
Such a method was unheard of.
It abandoned the idea of going out to deal with the enemy itself.
It decided to endure a while, take a step back—and the sea would be broad, the sky clear.
It refused to believe the enemy could keep hurting it forever.
The armored isopod forcibly sealed off its senses and sank into slumber—but the instant it fell asleep, a violent stab of pain jolted it awake.
Its teeth chattered, its stomach juices churned. It shut its eyes again and tried to sleep...
Bang!
Again.
And so it went, back and forth, dozens of times over.
"GYAAAAH!!!!"
The armored isopod searched furiously for the source of the attacks, its body darting ceaselessly through the wormhole in space.
"Boom-chicka boom-chicka boom-chicka..." Out in the starry sky, atop the Eye of the Universe, the armored short-legged cat—amplified by the nine-colored divine light and burning through its power of faith—kept crossing vast distances to bring down judgment upon the stellar alien worm.
Unfortunately, the enemy was formidable and hidden far too deep, dwelling in a space not its own, so no fatal blow could be landed.
The short-legged cat ached at the cost, for what it had just spent far exceeded what Bugsy had expended flattening a pile of the worm's clones with an Enhanced Dragon Starfall.
Moments later.
The armored isopod, harried all the while by the short-legged cat, at last located the source of the attacks. It opened an Ultimate Wormhole and drifted out from within, fixing its gaze on the short-legged cat and Shi Jin and the others standing upon the Eye of the Universe facility.
"You... are courting DEATH!!!!!" A vast aura of Abyssal divine power billowed outward, so that people in certain regions of Blue Star, looking up, saw not the blue sky but a purple river of stars—the immense, surging breath of the stellar alien worm's Abyssal power.
The whole of Blue Star seemed to lie beneath a shroud of dark clouds.
"So it's begun." The earlier descent of the Dragon Starfall had drawn enormous attention; whether they had been attacked or not, all the deities could now feel the tension crackling above the stars.
"Shi Jin..." When the World Tree saw that Shi Jin had drawn the alien worm out into space rather than fighting to the death on Blue Star, it understood at once Shi Ying's painstaking intent.
Was he afraid of knocking Blue Star's world tier down a notch?
"None of you come."
On Blue Star, several god-level beings—Divine Source Legend among them—wished to fly up into the starry sky to reinforce Shi Ying, only to hear Shi Jin's telepathic voice resound across the heavens.
The stellar alien worm could devour all things to evolve, grow, and heal its wounds. Shi Jin could look after his own team, but not necessarily anyone else.
If a whole crowd came, they might end up as nothing but nourishment for the alien worm.
"That brat..." Divine Source guessed Shi Ying's meaning and could not help cursing under his breath.
Since when had he, an elder, become a hindrance—and after ascending to godhood, no less?
Shi Jin meant to face the stellar alien worm alone.
"Well now, so it's finally here." Shi Qi regarded the alien worm, wreathed in roiling tides of mighty divine power, with a faint smile.
"Master, the enemy's divine power is formidable," Rin warned. "Still, it's manageable—it hasn't reached the level of a high god. It will do nicely to test the current strength of our team."
"Beat it, and we can beat the mid-tier god examiner in the God-Sealing War."
Behind Shi Jin, every one of his beasts now materialized, all eyes fixed on the stellar alien worm.
"DIE!!!" While Rin and Shi Jin conferred, the short-legged cat needled the creature once more, sending it charging over in a fury.
Its speed was extraordinary.
BOOM!
In an instant, the Eye of the Universe was split in two by a sweep of the creature's talons and exploded in space, while Shi Jin and the others who had stood upon it scattered, each flying free among the stars.
