Chapter 1 — The Selection of Reincarnators

Temporary Worker in the Ninja Village Page 1 of 2

February, Year 60 of Konoha.

The Ninja Academy.

Wang Xu strolled up to the graduating class, muttering something under his breath.

"The world of Naruto really is wonderful. Almost every strong person has their own obsession and ideals. A little sweet-talking, and I can add a few exceptionally capable generals to my ranks. I'd call it the second-easiest starting world there is."

That's right—Wang Xu was a transmigrator!

He came from Earth, where he had been an utterly ordinary student, mediocre in every ability, with no notable talent worth mentioning except for playing video games.

Even the manga he liked, he mostly skimmed through. Not even the Big Three shonen series—Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece—could he remember clearly in terms of plot progression or chronology!

"Hmph... but everything's different now! I'm no longer the person I used to be!" A trace of excitement surfaced on Wang Xu's face.

Who could have imagined that the cheat he received upon transmigrating would be neither a system nor cultivation talent, but a Main God template!

One that recruits Reincarnators across the endless planes of all the heavens and myriad worlds, dispatches them into various worlds to carry out missions, and has them scour resources and points for him!

The profits a capitalist can reap will always exceed those of a wage slave.

Before transmigrating, Wang Xu had deeply envied those who had the chance to enter the Main God Space, for they might escape mediocrity, wield transcendent power, and perhaps even become heroes or protagonists out of films and anime.

Even if they died, they would die on the road fighting for their ideals!

Now, he no longer needed to envy Reincarnators—because he was the Main God!

"Heh heh heh... hahahaha..." Wang Xu covered his face and laughed like Iori Yagami gone mad.

At that moment, a mechanized voice—neither male nor female—rang out in his mind.

"Your Eminence the Main God, the auxiliary program reminds you that your ostentatious behavior may draw the attention of the natives of this plane."

"Oh, got it."

Wang Xu nodded and reined in his smile.

He knew well enough that he was lacking in social experience and deficient in certain respects, which was why he had taken the initiative to activate the auxiliary sprite, letting it check his oversights and fill his gaps.

In truth, after arriving in this Naruto world, the Main God template he carried had only a little over three thousand resource points left. For a Main God, that was pitifully shabby.

Originally, following Wang Huai'an's idea, he would simply exchange for a powerful B-rank to A-rank ninjutsu. But that idea was immediately struck down by the auxiliary program.

Ninjutsu requires chakra to drive it, and the God Tree is the root source of all chakra. The chakra in the bodies of every ninja in the ninja world originates from the God Tree.

Wang Linchuan was an Earthling who had transmigrated into a body—he had absolutely nothing to do with the God Tree. In the world of Naruto, he was a complete and utter Muggle.

He was even worse off than Rock Lee—at least Lee simply couldn't use ninjutsu, rather than having no chakra in his body at all.

If Wang Xu really did exchange for a B-rank ninjutsu, then he would next have to exchange for a mid-tier chakra constitution. As for exchanging for a God Tree fruit? That wasn't impossible either—it was just that...

That astronomical number of resource points made one's heart willing but one's strength insufficient.

In the end, following the auxiliary program's reminders, Wang Xu spent those resource points and exchanged them for two things respectively.

1. An improved version of the mech hunter "Gipsy Danger" from *Pacific Rim*—single-pilot operable, idiot-proof voice control, and able to automatically absorb solar, wind, and electrical energy to replenish power.

2. The identity of a Konoha chunin.

What's more, this chunin identity of his wasn't some unregistered ghost—it was a bona fide Konoha ninja. Even if it were brought before the Third Hokage and Shimura Danzo, those two old men would have to acknowledge it.

As the Main God, Wang Xu was just that badass!

Any item, weapon, ability, identity—even the legendary protagonist halo—as long as he had enough resource points, he could exchange for it all!

"The style's a bit off, but at least I've successfully blended into the Naruto world. The first step has been taken—success isn't far off now!"

Wang Yan's mindset was excellent. He felt this world could well be called the second-easiest world to conquer among all the anime planes of the heavens.

And the easiest world to conquer?

Naturally, that would be Dragon Ball Z!

All he had to do was tell Son Goku that, after becoming a Reincarnator, he could use reward points to exchange for a miraculous item like the "Gourmet Tablecloth," which could supply unlimited food—and he'd instantly sweet-talk a Reincarnator with planet-busting potential into his ranks.

"Next up—selecting the Reincarnators!"

As he pondered, Wang Linchuan paced back and forth through the Ninja Academy, scrutinizing the teachers and students.

Uchiha Sasuke, Uzumaki Naruto, Haruno Sakura...

Hyuga Hinata, Inuzuka Kiba, Aburame Shino...

Nara Shikamaru, Yamanaka Ino, Akimichi Choji...

Mizuki, Iruka...

Wang Xu temporarily ruled all of them out.

If he were to go purely by his own will and disregard profit, the ones Wang Xu most wanted to take as Reincarnators were, of course, Sasuke, Naruto, and Hinata.

Unfortunately, this was only the first step of development—he couldn't do everything just as he pleased.

Sasuke was first in his class at the Ninja Academy, possessed the Uchiha clan's prestigious bloodline limit, and was even the reincarnation of Indra's chakra—so what? Wasn't he still just a little brat who hadn't carried out even half a mission?

His potential was boundless. In the future, under his deranged older brother's arrangement, he might well become a titan-level figure who would shake the ninja world—but right now, he was still far from it.

Naruto, jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails, reincarnation of Asura's chakra, holder of a max-level Talk-no-Jutsu skill, the Child of Prophecy—yet at present he was nothing more than a lonely kid who could only pull pranks to get attention.

Even the two great protagonists of Naruto had been temporarily ruled out by Wang Xu, so Hinata, that shy little girl, naturally lost her chance as well.

"What a pity! If only I'd arrived four years earlier, before the Uchiha clan was wiped out, I might have recruited Shisui of the Body Flicker and the nation's beloved big brother, Itachi, as Reincarnators! Given those two's circumstances at the time and the conflicts with their beliefs, I could have sweet-talked them over without even breaking a sweat!"

Wang Xu was somewhat pained at heart.

But he quickly composed himself.

Itachi would come in time, and so would Sasuke.

He still wanted to see the day when the brothers Itachi and Sasuke joined forces in the world of One Piece and shone brilliantly at the Battle of Marineford...

"The auxiliary program has detected that Your Eminence the Main God is indulging in fantasy, and hereby reminds you."

"Ah... ah~ got it!"

Wang Xu waved his hand and promptly left the Ninja Academy.

Perhaps there were many seeds of excellent future Reincarnators within these walls, but they were far too green at present.

What Wang Mu Yuan needed were Reincarnators who, the moment they were converted, could immediately go out executing missions and plundering resource points!

He wasn't the typical bachelor who ate his fill and let the whole family go hungry—his father, mother, little sister, and elder brother were all still back on Earth!

Had the auxiliary program not informed him right away that six or seven years spent in the Naruto world would amount to only one year of Earth time, he probably would have long since gone off to pull some suicidal, wild stunts.
