Chapter 402 — The Last of the Four Villains

The Blossom Guardian

"Sister Xiaoxiao is back!" Zou Ruoming and Zhong Yongliang were not at all keen to welcome Feng Xiaoxiao, but they had no choice—they dared not stay away. Although Feng Xiaoxiao had spent only a little over a month in the junior division back then, her fearsome name had spread far and wide, and even Zou Ruoming and Zhong Yongliang did not dare provoke her. Otherwise, how could a girl have leapt straight into the ranks of the campus's Four Great Villains as the fourth?

The reason she ranked last among the Four Great Villains was not that Feng Xiaoxiao was weak—on the contrary, she was more ruthless than both Zhong Yongliang and Zou Ruoming! Drinking and drag-racing in the first year of middle school, brawling with knives—and yet this savage little miss ranked last only because she was the youngest.

Fortunately, Feng Xiaoxiao had transferred away soon after, becoming a legend of the school; otherwise Zou Ruoming and Zhong Yongliang would truly have been held down beneath her. To be held down by a little girl—where would the two of them have put their faces? How could they have borne the shame?

No sooner had that vicious little miss Feng gone and the place enjoyed a few years of peace than along came Wei Zhao, lording it over everyone. But because Wei Zhao existed, Zou Ruoming and Zhong Yongliang found they no longer resented Feng Xiaoxiao's return.

They were eager to see what would happen when that little terror Feng and that great fighter Lin came face to face. Vicious as she was, would Feng Xiaoxiao simply geld Wei Zhao with a single blade? Zou Ruoming and Zhong Yongliang could hardly wait.

"Why is it still you lot? Hasn't First High produced any formidable characters in all these years?" Feng Xiaoxiao asked tentatively.

"Oh, there is one—a real ruthless one. But he doesn't give a damn about us. I won't hide it from you, Sister Xiaoxiao—he thrashed both me and Liangzi. Right now First High is his domain, and nobody dares lay a finger on him. Even one of his hangers-on has been lifted to the heavens." To provoke a clash between Feng Xiaoxiao and Wei Zhao, Zou Ruoming belittled himself without hesitation, painting Wei Zhao as someone truly formidable. "I sent word for him to come welcome Sister Xiaoxiao, but the fellow's busy chasing girls—no time at all to bother with us!"

Yu Dafa and the others were instantly filled with contempt for Zou Ruoming. The man had never even notified Wei Zhao; all this was nothing but sowing discord. Yet no one dared step forward to speak for Wei Zhao at that moment—standing up for him might curry favor, but it would also offend Zou Ruoming and Zhong Yongliang.

"Wei Zhao?" Feng Xiaoxiao frowned, fished a compact phone from her pocket, brought up a photo, and held it out to Zou Ruoming. "Is this the man?"

"Huh? Sister Xiaoxiao, you know him?" Zou Ruoming stared at the phone and froze—the person in the photo was unmistakably Wei Zhao!

"So he really is here too!" Feng Xiaoxiao nodded in satisfaction. "Looks like I came to the right place..."

Truly, one may search high and low and find it nowhere, yet obtain it without any effort at all. Feng Xiaoxiao had previously cast her net across all of Songshan City searching for Gu Mengyao and Wei Zhao, yet had found nothing. In the end, quite by chance, she showed her phone to a friend, and that friend recognized Gu Mengyao at a glance—the daughter of the chairman of Pengzhan Group, currently studying at First High in Songshan City.

When Feng Xiaoxiao learned the answer, she was speechless. She herself had transferred out of First High's junior division; she had never considered looking here, yet in the end it was here that she found them.

Still, it was no wonder that Gu Mengyao and Shen Yushu had not attended First High for middle school. At the time, Gu Pengzhan had feared that Mengyao, being young and unable to tell right from wrong, would develop the airs of a spoiled rich girl in his own school, so he had sent her to a public middle school first, and only for high school did she attend First High.

That was why Feng Xiaoxiao had never seen Gu Mengyao or Shen Yushu, let alone Wei Zhao, who had transferred in only recently.

Hearing Feng Xiaoxiao's words, Zou Ruoming and Zhong Yongliang were like oppressed refugees catching sight of dawn. So Feng Xiaoxiao had come to settle accounts with Wei Zhao! That was wonderful. Zifei and the others could do nothing against Wei Zhao, but Feng Xiaoxiao could!

"Is that so, Sister Xiaoxiao? You have a grudge against him?" Zhong Yongliang asked tentatively.

"A grudge?" Feng Xiaoxiao paused a moment. Did she truly have a grudge against Wei Zhao? That earlier clash hardly counted as hatred. She had sought Wei Zhao only because she wanted to race him! After being looked down on by Wei Zhao, she simply bore a trace of indignation. Still, she said, "You could say that..."

At that, Zou Ruoming and Zhong Yongliang beamed with delight. With Feng Xiaoxiao to deal with Wei Zhao, all they had to do was sit on the mountain and watch the tigers fight.

Feng Xiaoxiao locked up her car and swaggered into First High, while Zou Ruoming, Zhong Yongliang, and their whole crowd trailed eagerly behind her.

"Tell me about Wei Zhao. Chasing girls, you say? What girl?" Feng Xiaoxiao asked Zou Ruoming and Zhong Yongliang at her side as she walked.

Feng Xiaoxiao was somewhat puzzled. Wasn't Wei Zhao Gu Mengyao's bodyguard? How was he off chasing girls? Could he and Gu Mengyao have gotten together?

"He's very close to Tang Zhi, our school's commoner beauty. Tang Zhi didn't attend middle school here—she only came for high school," Zhong Yongliang said. "She was Brother Ming's latest target too, but Wei Zhao got there first."

"Oh?" Feng Xiaoxiao was mildly taken aback. She had not expected Wei Zhao to actually come to school to chase girls—and to chase Zou Ruoming's target, no less. She could not help glancing at Zou Ruoming to see what he would say.

"Don't look at me like that... I can't beat him!" Zou Ruoming said bitterly. It was a little self-revealing, but he did not want to hide it—the more he said, the more Wei Zhao's status as the school's overlord would stand out, and the more surely Feng Xiaoxiao would go and deal with him.

"Does anyone else at school know about this?" Feng Xiaoxiao asked.

"There probably isn't a soul who doesn't. He announced it right in front of the dean of academic affairs—that Tang Zhi is his woman... Little Xiaoxiao, this Wei Zhao is even more audacious than you were back in the day!" Zhong Yongliang said. "Director Wang actually didn't dare say a single word!"

"Oh? What's his background?" Feng Xiaoxiao was a little puzzled. Even if Gu Mengyao's father Gu Pengzhan was a shareholder of the school, a bodyguard had no business being that arrogant, did he? Besides, if he was Gu Mengyao's bodyguard, how could Gu Mengyao let him go after another girl? And make it known to everyone? Could it be that the relationship between him and Gu Mengyao was a secret?

"I don't know what his background is. I heard before that he transferred here from some remote village, but now it looks like that's not quite..." Zhong Yongliang shook his head. If he still thought Wei Zhao was some peasant bumpkin at this point, he'd be an idiot.

"I see. So that's how it is," Feng Xiaoxiao nodded. It seemed the plan she had made earlier needed revising. She had intended to act a little flirtatious with Wei Zhao in front of Gu Mengyao to cause him some trouble, but now that trick seemed useless.

Since Gu Mengyao could agree to let Wei Zhao chase after that commoner school beauty Tang Zhi, she naturally wouldn't care about any ambiguity between him and herself... It seemed she would have to think carefully about how to make Wei Zhao and herself properly...
