Chapter 460 — Threw It Up and Ate It Again

The Blossom Guardian

"Oh, sure!" Chen Yubei agreed with a grin.

But Shen Yushu pricked up her ears and listened for a long while without catching a word of what Wei Zhao and Feng Xiaoxiao were saying in the seats across from her. The two of them weren't talking at all, were they?

Wei Zhao had his eyes narrowed in feigned sleep. After Feng Xiaoxiao said a few things and got no response from him, she had no choice but to listen to music by herself. "Gum Boy?" Shen Yushu wasn't worried that Feng Xiaoxiao might overhear what she called Wei Zhao, since Feng Xiaoxiao knew perfectly well what the relationship between the two of them was. If she had meant to blab, she would have done it long ago instead of waiting until now.

"Hm?" Wei Zhao opened his eyes and looked at Shen Yushu in puzzlement.

"It's nothing." Shen Yushu had thought Wei Zhao was asleep and meant to wake him so she could listen to him and Feng Xiaoxiao talk. Now that Wei Zhao was awake, there was nothing she needed to do.

"?" Wei Zhao gave Shen Yushu a baffled look and shook his head.

"Wei Zhao, are you hungry? I have some biscuits here." Seeing that Wei Zhao was no longer pretending to sleep, Feng Xiaoxiao hurriedly spoke up.

"Oh, you eat them yourself." Wei Zhao answered faintly, his gaze drifting out the window.

Feng Xiaoxiao pouted. What was that supposed to mean? The moment Shen Yushu called him, he answered; when she spoke to him, he barely bothered to respond. "Hey, how much do they pay you?"

"What do you mean, how much do they pay me?" Wei Zhao was taken aback.

"Aren't you their errand boy and bodyguard? How much do they pay you every month?" Feng Xiaoxiao asked.

"A few tens of thousands..." Wei Zhao said vaguely.

"A few tens of thousands..." Feng Xiaoxiao was startled. How could it be so much? Her family certainly loved money, but her own pocket money was only ten thousand a month. She had meant to ask how much Gu Mengyao paid Wei Zhao so she could offer him double to work for her, but now the words would not come out, and she could only say sourly, "You're bluffing!"

"Hah." Wei Zhao had more or less guessed what Feng Xiaoxiao was thinking. "I work for her father. The errand-boy bit is just a side job."

"Oh..." Feng Xiaoxiao nodded. If it was for Gu Pengzhan, then perhaps he really would spend that kind of money. It wasn't out of the question after all.

"Feng Xiaoxiao, if you want to learn to drive, I don't have the time for now, so there's no need for you to follow me around every day. Following me won't do any good anyway." Since Wei Zhao had brought it up, he decided he might as well make things clear.

"I don't have to learn! It doesn't matter if you won't teach me—I just want you to influence me imperceptibly," Feng Xiaoxiao said. "That way I'll become more and more like you."

"..." Wei Zhao was dumbfounded. What kind of nonsense theory was that? Imperceptible influence? For a moment he was speechless. "Suit yourself, then."

Knowing it was pointless to argue with Feng Xiaoxiao, Wei Zhao could not be bothered to waste more words. If she wanted to tag along, let her. Give it a few days and she would probably tire of it herself.

"Great!" Feng Xiaoxiao was overjoyed that Wei Zhao had agreed, her eyes curving into crescent moons. "Here, have some biscuits."

Wei Zhao took the biscuits and set them casually on the little tray table in front of him...

"I heard them," Shen Yushu said to Gu Mengyao in a low voice.

"So what did they say?" Gu Mengyao asked.

"Feng Xiaoxiao asked Gum Boy to teach her to drive—that's why she follows him around every day," Shen Yushu said.

"Is that so? Then let her." Hearing that Feng Xiaoxiao was only pestering Wei Zhao to learn to drive, Gu Mengyao naturally lost interest.

Gao Xiaofu's face was growing worse by the moment, until at last he could bear it no longer. "Brother Liang, I can't hold out. I'm going to be sick!"

"Just hang on a little longer! We're almost there!" Zhong Yongliang felt queasy himself, though he was faring somewhat better than Gao Xiaofu. He flew often enough on trips, and had even endured those small regional airliners before—better than this one, but not by much.

"I can't, I really can't!" Gao Xiaofu suddenly cried out. "Stewardess, open the window for me—I'm going to throw up!"

Gao Xiaofu's outburst drew every eye in the rows ahead, and Zhong Yongliang felt his face burn. What a humiliation! He could have kicked Gao Xiaofu right out of the plane. "This is an airplane, you idiot—did you think it was a bus? The windows are sealed. They don't open!"

"Then what am I supposed to do? It's coming up!" Gao Xiaofu said in a panic.

"Hold it in! Hold it in a moment and it'll pass," Zhong Yongliang snapped.

"Urp—" Gao Xiaofu, on the verge of vomiting, clapped a hand over his mouth. He held it for a while, and at last let out a long breath. "Phew..."

"Did you keep it down?" Zhong Yongliang asked, relieved to see that Gao Xiaofu was no longer retching.

"I threw up. Into my mouth. Then I swallowed it again," Gao Xiaofu said.

"What? Urp—" Zhong Yongliang's stomach heaved. Swallowed it again? How disgusting was that? He had been holding himself together, but Gao Xiaofu's words pushed him over the edge. He opened his mouth to vomit—then caught himself as he glanced up and saw the whole class watching Gao Xiaofu with amusement, and Shen Yushu turning around to look. He hesitated, but the stuff was already rising to his throat, and there was no holding it back now. Zhong Yongliang steeled himself, did as Gao Xiaofu had done—vomited into his mouth, and swallowed it down again.

"Burp—" Zhong Yongliang let out a satisfied belch, then waved cheerfully at Shen Yushu. "See? I'm perfectly fine. It's just that Gao Xiaofu here can't handle it!"

Seeing that no one had noticed, Zhong Yongliang breathed a sigh of relief. Clever as ever—true, he had swallowed his vomit too, but nobody had seen it!

"Brother Liang, my stomach's upset. I think I need to go number two," Gao Xiaofu said after a while.

"What is it with you? First you want to throw up, now you want to crap?" Zhong Yongliang was losing his temper.

"Brother Liang, you can't blame me. I didn't manage to throw it up, so I swallowed it back down, and now it's got to come out the other end..." Gao Xiaofu said meekly.

"There's a restroom up front. Go yourself!" Zhong Yongliang said helplessly.

Gao Xiaofu covered the distance in a few strides and dashed into the restroom. Zhong Yongliang was beginning to regret having let Gao Xiaofu sit at the back of the cabin with him—the man was a blight on his illustrious image!

No... why did his own stomach feel so awful? Zhong Yongliang was struck by a sudden alarm. He too had swallowed what he'd thrown up—surely he wasn't about to have diarrhea as well?

At the thought, Zhong Yongliang panicked. He scrambled up and ran for the toilet, and only at the door did he remember that Gao Xiaofu was still inside. He pounded on the door. "Xiaofu, hurry it up!"

"Brother Liang, what is it..." Gao Xiaofu asked weakly.

"I need to go too. Hurry up!" Zhong Yongliang said urgently.

"But I'm still going..." Gao Xiaofu answered.

Zhong Yongliang was sweating through his scalp, in agony, and could only pound on the door like a madman.
