Chapter 517 — Feng Xiaoxiao's Wicked Scheme

The Blossom Guardian

Wei Zhao was pulled back to his senses by Feng Xiaoxiao's scream, and to his relief, she had truly woken up. His hands, meanwhile, were still clasping both of hers.

"You're awake?" Seeing that Feng Xiaoxiao was all right, Wei Zhao breathed a sigh of relief.

"You... what did you do to me?" The moment Feng Xiaoxiao woke, she discovered she was lying naked on the bed, with Wei Zhao "sleeping" right beside her — and most horrifying of all, there were traces of blood between her legs and on the sheets!

And so Feng Xiaoxiao, convinced she had been ravished, let out a piercing scream.

What baffled Wei Zhao was that she simply stared at him blankly. "Me? What did I do to you?"

"I... you..." Feng Xiaoxiao was indignant. Surely Wei Zhao wasn't going to deny it? She was lying naked in the same bed as him, and he had the gall to ask what he had done? The sheer nerve of it!

Though Feng Xiaoxiao knew her days were numbered, she was no loose woman, and there was no way she could simply pretend nothing had happened!

"What do you mean, 'I'?" Wei Zhao was a little nettled. He had not only saved her life, but now the girl thought he had taken advantage of her! After all, he had lost a level because of her, and he had not even settled that score yet. So he said, "Without me, you would have been dead long ago!"

"Ah!" Feng Xiaoxiao was struck dumb, and at once remembered what had happened before! The instant she opened her eyes, she had found herself naked in bed with Wei Zhao, with blood on her body and the sheets — so she had been thrown into a panic and assumed on instinct that something had happened between them. But after hearing Wei Zhao's words, she thought it over carefully: she had been taking a bath, then felt terribly unwell, and then fainted...

So then, it was Wei Zhao who had pulled her out of the bathroom and saved her? But how had he saved her? Even though Feng Xiaoxiao had never experienced it herself, she knew from the diary her mother had left behind that once those symptoms appeared, it was the moment of onset — meaning death was close at hand, and no doctor, however skilled, could save her!

Her earlier cry for help had been the instinctive urge to survive. She might have known she was going to die, but who ever truly wanted to die? Yet now Feng Xiaoxiao felt perfectly well, as though the symptoms had never been there at all. Could it really be that Wei Zhao had saved her?

"You... you saved me?" Feng Xiaoxiao asked, eyeing Wei Zhao uncertainly.

"Must you ask such pointless questions?" Wei Zhao smiled wryly.

"How... how did you save me?" Feng Xiaoxiao was curious. Hers was an incurable disease — her body felt fine now, true, but she still did not believe Wei Zhao could have saved her.

"That is not for you to know," Wei Zhao said flatly.

"Oh..." Feng Xiaoxiao did not press him further. Then she thought of the blood on her body and said, "Then what about the blood on me? You really didn't... with me..."

"I cut my arm when I carried you out of the bathroom!" Wei Zhao raised his arm — only to find, to his surprise, that the wound had mostly healed, leaving only a faint scar.

"Really?" Seeing the scar on Wei Zhao's arm, which looked nothing like a fresh wound, Feng Xiaoxiao grew suspicious. "Was this really just now?"

"Heh..." Wei Zhao shrugged and stood up indifferently. Whether Feng Xiaoxiao believed him meant nothing to him. "You'd better get dressed quickly, or when your father comes back he'll think I really did something to you."

"Ah!" Only then did Feng Xiaoxiao realize she was still naked! And Wei Zhao had been standing in front of her all this time — had he seen everything? She turned crimson. "You— turn around!"

"I've already seen it all. Not a bad figure." Wei Zhao felt no particular dislike for Feng Xiaoxiao, but neither could it be called fondness, so he spoke without restraint.

"You!" Feng Xiaoxiao was furious, glaring at Wei Zhao with hatred, wishing she could kill him with her eyes alone! She knew perfectly well that if she started a fight with him now, quite apart from whether she could beat him, she would be the one exposed for certain. But at that moment Wei Zhao turned around, and Feng Xiaoxiao nearly goggled her eyes out of her head — and even that failed to intimidate him in the slightest.

Feng Xiaoxiao was ready to die of rage. Then her eyes shifted, and she suddenly hit upon a bold idea! She gritted her teeth, picked up the phone she had left on the bed, and switched it to camera mode. Then she sprang off the bed, hugged Wei Zhao from behind, and raised the phone to snap a photo in front of them.

Feng Xiaoxiao's move caught Wei Zhao completely off guard. He had turned around to wait for her to get dressed, so naturally he had not been on his guard — and besides, most of his own strength was gone, so he only sensed her once she was already close.

"What are you doing?" Feng Xiaoxiao's behavior left Wei Zhao utterly bewildered! A faint stirring fluttered through his heart, and feeling the softness of her pressed against his back after she embraced him, Wei Zhao's heart swayed...

"I didn't do anything!" Feng Xiaoxiao sprang away from Wei Zhao's side in a fluster, then hastily tucked her phone away.

"What were you taking a picture of me for?" Wei Zhao had not turned around, but he had still caught sight of the hand Feng Xiaoxiao had stretched toward him, phone in it.

"I'm going to tell my dad that you ***ed me!" Feng Xiaoxiao rolled her eyes and said.

Wei Zhao frowned, but in the end said nothing. He had seen enough of Feng Xiaoxiao's mischief to know her ways, so this did not strike him as particularly strange.

When Feng Xiaoxiao saw that Wei Zhao made no reply, she lost interest. She finished dressing and only then said, "Hey, so you really didn't do anything with me?"

"Can't you tell for yourself?" Wei Zhao asked in return.

"How would I tell? I passed out earlier — how would I know what you were doing?" Feng Xiaoxiao snorted.

"So you're not a ***?" Wei Zhao asked.

"You're the one who's not a ***! Of course I am!" Feng Xiaoxiao was instantly displeased at Wei Zhao's insinuation that she was not. Although she behaved much like a delinquent girl, Feng Xiaoxiao had always kept herself clean and had never had a boyfriend.

"Of course I'm not." Wei Zhao curled his lip. "If you were a ***, wouldn't the first time have hurt? Go get checked at the hospital and you'll know whether anything happened."

"You—" Feng Xiaoxiao suddenly came to her senses. That was right, she had felt nothing unusual, so surely nothing had happened! But if that was so, didn't it mean she had no hold over Wei Zhao at all?

All Wei Zhao had to do was drag her to the hospital for a checkup, and everything would be proven... In fact, that was exactly what Wei Zhao had in mind, which was why he was not afraid of Feng Xiaoxiao threatening him with this matter. Even if Feng Tianlong came looking for him, he would have evidence to prove his innocence.
