Chapter 648 — Qiu Lingshan's Trouble

The Blossom Guardian

With all of that done, Wei Zhao strode casually out of the surgical prep room and headed downstairs to look for Qiu Lingshan.

As for the clothes he had taken off earlier, there had been nothing in them but a cell phone and a box of silver needles, and Wei Zhao was in no hurry to go back for them—what if he ran into An Liwen's men?

When Qiu Lingshan groggily came to, she knew at once that she had been tricked. The other side had clearly figured out who she was; otherwise, why would they have locked her in the dungeon and then knocked her out with drugged smoke?

They must have been wary of her strength as a Yellow-tier expert, which was why they had resorted to such a low trick as sedatives. But there was nothing Qiu Lingshan could do about it—she could hardly stop breathing, could she? The moment she drew breath, the drug was in the air.

Now that she had just woken up, the drug had already cleared from the air. Clearly they had not pumped any more sedative into the dungeon, perhaps because they had overlooked the fact that a Yellow-tier expert like her had a sturdier constitution than an ordinary person—and so she had come to earlier than a normal captive would.

The first thing Qiu Lingshan did was check whether the phone and signal transmitter on her person had been taken. But both were still there, which left her rather puzzled. Had they really not searched her?

She had guessed right. An Liwen truly had not searched Qiu Lingshan. For one thing, there was no need: the entire headquarters of the kidney-harvesting syndicate was signal-shielded, so even with a communication device, Qiu Lingshan could not have contacted the outside world. For another, it was a question of her strength. An Liwen had not a single Yellow-tier expert at his side, so none of his people were a match for Qiu Lingshan—he did not dare lay a hand on her.

Qiu Lingshan glanced at the phone, which showed no signal, and could not help a bitter smile. Just as she thought! Otherwise, given Liu Wangli's efficiency, there was no way he would have failed to locate her—and no way he would have left her unconscious here for more than a whole night.

The time on the phone showed it was already noon the next day. She had been out for over ten hours.

Qiu Lingshan rose and surveyed the dungeon. Defenses like these—there was no way she could break through them herself. The iron door of the cell was thick enough that only an expert at the peak of the late Yellow tier could hope to smash it open, and she was only at the peak of the mid Yellow tier, still far from the next stage.

So Qiu Lingshan gave up on such futile efforts and went on searching for any other exit from the dungeon...

Suddenly, a peculiar fragrance began to spread through the air of the dungeon... Qiu Lingshan frowned. Had they noticed she was awake and started pumping sedatives into the cell again?

Sure enough, after searching, Qiu Lingshan found two cameras in two hard-to-spot corners of the dungeon. They must have been watching her through those cameras. At that thought, she made no particular effort to hold her breath—even if she did, she could only last a little while. She could hardly stop breathing altogether, could she?

So Qiu Lingshan simply let nature take its course, offering no resistance, breathing the fragrant air as normal...

Only, after a while, Qiu Lingshan felt not the slightest urge to fall asleep. Instead, she felt an extraordinary excitement, her blood racing as if she had inexhaustible strength...

Had they made a mistake and pumped stimulants into the dungeon instead?

But very quickly Qiu Lingshan realized that the gas they were pumping in was no stimulant! Her body felt unbearably hot and feverish, and she was gripped by an intense sexual urge!

Qiu Lingshan had never had a boyfriend, nor had she ever done that sort of thing, but she understood such physiological reactions well enough. She was a normal woman and occasionally had her spring dreams; it was just that her self-control was usually strong, and her work kept her busy, so she kept such urges well in check.

But driven by a drug with such powerful aphrodisiac effects, how could sheer self-control hold out? Because of her profession, Qiu Lingshan had naturally studied these aphrodisiacs more than most, and she knew how ferocious their effects could be once they took hold!

At that thought, Qiu Lingshan truly began to panic. What did these people want? Did they mean to force themselves on her this way? No, that did not make sense either—though the drug was controlling her, her mid Yellow-tier strength was still intact. Unless they had eaten leopard guts for courage, none of them would dare burst in at a time like this!

But if not for that, then why were they pumping aphrodisiacs into the dungeon?

At first, Qiu Lingshan could still fight to hold herself in check, but as more and more of the drug entered her body, her gaze grew hazy... Yet her mind remained lucid throughout—it was only her body's reactions that were slipping beyond her control.

"Ah..." Qiu Lingshan could not help moaning, and the sound startled even herself. So there would come a day when she too made such a seductive sound? Qiu Lingshan had always been a woman of unyielding character, and now she felt thoroughly mortified...

But mortified or not, even so, Qiu Lingshan's hands still moved uncontrollably, wanting to tear the clothes from her body...

The cameras! The cameras suddenly came to Qiu Lingshan's mind, and her heart lurched with alarm. Surely the criminals did not mean to film her shameful state and use it to blackmail her? Just think—if a recording of her fell into someone's hands, she would sooner die!

Qiu Lingshan bit down hard on her lip, and the sharp sting of pain jolted her back to her senses, cooling her head for a brief moment.

The cameras had to be destroyed, or she was truly finished. Even if she survived this time, she would have no face to keep serving as captain of the criminal investigation unit, still less to go on working at the police station.

Qiu Lingshan knew she could not possibly hold out against the aphrodisiac, so before the drug erupted in full force, she had to destroy everything that posed a threat to her.

Fortunately, the dungeon walls were not very high, and the cameras had been mounted only about three meters above the ground. For a Yellow-Rank expert, such a height was nothing at all, especially for Qiu Lingshan, who stood at the very peak of the mid-Yellow-Rank.

Qiu Lingshan gritted her teeth, reached the edge of the wall where the camera was mounted, planted one foot against the wall, and used the friction to launch herself upward, flying through the air to kick the surveillance camera. With a crack, the camera burst apart, its connecting wires kicked clean through; plainly it would work no more.
