Chapter 1001 — A Temporary Alliance

"You wanted to see me about something?" Shen Yushu asked Feng Xiaoxiao as soon as they reached the door of the private room. She hardly believed Feng Xiaoxiao would be so kind as to invite her along to the restroom.

"Don't you find that Xie Yufeng annoying?" Feng Xiaoxiao asked.

"Very annoying — he's ruining our contest!" Shen Yushu nodded.

"I think so too, so I've decided: first I'll deal with Xie Yufeng, then I'll deal with you!" Feng Xiaoxiao said. "What do you think?"

"You want to join forces with me?" Shen Yushu was no fool either.

"A temporary alliance. Once Xie Yufeng is dealt with, we'll pick up where we left off!" Feng Xiaoxiao nodded.

"Fine, then it's settled!" Shen Yushu and Feng Xiaoxiao hit it off at once. "What's your plan?"

"I don't have one yet. I'm working on it!" Feng Xiaoxiao shook her head.

The two talked as they walked toward the restroom, though in truth neither had any intention of going in. They simply stood at the restroom door, racking their brains for a solution.

"Hey there, pretty ladies, waiting for someone?" A drunken man with a face full of bulging flesh happened to be coming out of the restroom just then. One glance at Shen Yushu and Feng Xiaoxiao standing by the door and his eyes lit up at once.

Girls this beautiful were far better than the hostesses he had paid for in his private room — clearly fresh and innocent — and he could not resist making a lewd pass at them.

The man was called Lei Zhenyu, a guest of Zou Tiandi, the owner of the Tiandi Entertainment City. He ran an empty-truck cargo-matching business in the province and was a force to be reckoned with in his own right, which made him utterly brazen. Whenever he saw a pretty girl in a nightclub or entertainment center, he would drag her into a private room and have his way. If she complied, well and good; if not, he would combine threats with bribes and settle the matter afterward with a sum of money.

Most of the girls who frequented nightclubs and entertainment centers were not exactly innocent, nor were they virgins, so being taken was simply being taken — and afterward they got paid. Fearful of Lei Zhenyu's power, they dared not call the police. So Lei Zhenyu grew ever more reckless.

Lei Zhenyu's sudden appearance made Feng Xiaoxiao and Shen Yushu pause for a moment. Then they exchanged a glance, and each read the other's meaning in her eyes.

"We came out with other men, so sorry, we can't keep you company!" Feng Xiaoxiao said, looking at Lei Zhenyu with great regret.

"Yes, yes, much as we'd love to keep you company, our male companions are very formidable, and you can't afford to provoke him, so we can't go with you!" Shen Yushu blinked helplessly as well.

After saying this, the two exchanged another glance, and in that glance there was a touch of mutual appreciation. They truly were kindred spirits, thinking along the very same lines — both meant to use this fleshy-faced man to deal with Xie Yufeng.

Hearing Feng Xiaoxiao and Shen Yushu's words, Lei Zhenyu knew there was an opening! These two girls had not refused outright; they had said they had male companions, and that those companions were formidable, so they could not come keep him company. Lei Zhenyu was delighted. He waved a hand and said indifferently, "Hmph! In the whole of Songshan City, is there anyone more formidable than Lei Zhenyu? Anyone dares snatch a girl I've set my eyes on?"

"That won't do, Brother Lei. Much as we'd love to keep you company, our male companions are very formidable!" Feng Xiaoxiao shook her head, her face full of distress.

"Yes, yes, he's very formidable. Brother Lei, you look mighty and fierce, but I'm afraid you'd be no match for him!" Shen Yushu warned with concern.

"Damn it! You go back and tell him that Lei Zhenyu has taken a fancy to you. If he has a problem with that, he can come find me at Lei's freight station — I'll beat him to death!" Hearing Feng Xiaoxiao and Shen Yushu go on about how formidable their male companions were, Lei Zhenyu flared up at once.

"We wouldn't dare, Brother Lei. Why don't you come back with us and tell him yourself..." Feng Xiaoxiao said.

"Fine! I'll go back with you!" Lei Zhenyu was plainly drunk and never considered whether there might be any scheme hidden in Feng Xiaoxiao and Shen Yushu's words. He waved a hand and made to leave with the two of them.

Just then two more men came out of the restroom, one bald and one with a hooked nose. Once outside, the bald man said to Lei Zhenyu, "Brother Lei, what are you doing here... Eh?"

When the bald man saw Feng Xiaoxiao and Shen Yushu, his eyes lit up as well! Top-notch, absolutely top-notch. He had not expected Brother Lei to be this impressive — he could find two pretty girls even on a trip to the restroom. If Brother Lei had his fun with them later, wouldn't it be his turn next?

"Oh, these two little girls are willing to play with us, but they say their male companion is very formidable. I'll go over with them and settle him!" Lei Zhenyu said carelessly.

When Xie Yufeng saw Feng Xiaoxiao and Shen Yushu head to the restroom together, he wanted to follow. This was a perfect chance to approach them alone—who knew, maybe there would be some opportunity to curry favor! He waited a little while before standing up, then, pretending he also needed the restroom, walked out of the private room.

But the moment he reached the corridor, he saw Feng Xiaoxiao and Shen Yushu not far away, surrounded by three men with fierce, villainous looks!

Someone was giving them trouble? Xie Yufeng's brain short-circuited for a moment! He was so excited he hardly knew what to do with himself—this was truly a gift from heaven! He had been agonizing over having no chance to show off his strength, and who would have thought the opportunity would come so soon!

The two exchanged a glance and smiled—this Xie Yufeng really was straight out of a suicide squad!

"Oh, our male companion has come looking for us!" Shen Yushu said, a little nervously. "Sorry, Brother Lei, we have to go back..."

"Brother Lei, we have to go back with him. See you next time!" Feng Xiaoxiao said to Lei Zhenyu, also with regret.
