Chapter 2588 — Right Panhu Gets Robbed

The Blossom Guardian

"I already did," Han Jingyi said, setting down the tablet. Her big, liquid eyes shimmered with an air of innocence.

"You did?" Right Panhu was stunned for a moment. "When did you give it to me? Even if my memory were the worst in the world, I couldn't possibly forget something that happened a few seconds ago! My name is Right Panhu, not Elder Right!"

"Who's Elder Right?" Han Jingyi looked at him strangely.

"Nothing—just a tragic side character in a novel. Never mind that. Hurry up and give me the data!" Right Panhu was afraid Wei Zhao would take his goods and not hand over the files.

"I really did give it to you. I sent it to your phone's inbox. Didn't your phone just beep to say you'd received a text? Are you deaf or something?" Han Jingyi said innocently.

"..." Right Panhu pulled out his phone and took a look. Sure enough, he had received an email. He opened it—it really was the scanned version of the data. Right Panhu examined it carefully. It was material he had never seen before, but he remained wary and flipped page by page to the end, afraid that Wei Zhao had cheated him by leaving a few pages out in the middle. If that happened, once he got home he would have no way to get them back—everything was in image format. What if Wei Zhao claimed he had deleted them himself?

After examining it cautiously, he found that no pages were missing. Still, Right Panhu worried it might not be complete, so he said, "Wei Zhao, bring out the original and let me compare. I want to see what the final page number is!"

"You're nothing but trouble," Wei Zhao said, fishing the original out of his backpack and handing it to Right Panhu.

Right Panhu took the material with a dark expression and compared them. Only after finding no problems did he return the original to Wei Zhao. He gave a dry laugh. "It's not that I doubted you. You were so thorough when you checked it earlier—I had to be careful too, didn't I? That way neither of us loses out. We'll keep doing business in the future."

"Goodbye." Wei Zhao picked up the box and left the classroom with Han Jingyi. Wang Xinyan, feeling embarrassed, had gone on ahead and was waiting for Wei Zhao in the parking lot.

"..." Right Panhu watched Wei Zhao's attitude and couldn't help but curl his lip. Then he excitedly left the classroom with his phone. He wanted to rush back to the Hidden Right Family as fast as possible and show this data to his grandfather.

But sometimes things take a turn for the worse right at the peak of joy. The more carefully Right Panhu held his phone, afraid of losing or damaging it in his pocket, the more trouble found him. He had just stepped out of the teaching building and was heading for the parking lot to find Yellow Hair and Purple Hair when a motorcycle came tearing toward him. Before Right Panhu could react, a hand snatched the phone from his grasp, and the bike sped away!

"Fuck!" Right Panhu panicked instantly and took off running. But although he was a cultivator, all he cultivated was the art of pill refining. It was fine for building up his health, but it was useless in a fight or a footrace. After only a few steps, the motorcycle was long gone.

Right Panhu was about to explode with rage. Damn it all—his previous phone had been snatched by a gang of real robbers, and he had just switched to a fancy new high-end smartphone that he hadn't even figured out how to use yet, and now it was gone too.

Of course, what pained him wasn't just the phone—it was the contents! The old phone had been full of messy videos of him chasing women; losing that was no loss. But this phone contained pill-refining data!

If he didn't know Wei Zhao well enough to be sure Wei Zhao wouldn't do something so despicable—if he were going to rob someone, he'd do it openly—Right Panhu might even have thought the robber was sent by Wei Zhao. It was just too much of a coincidence.

Right Panhu was frantic. He didn't dare tell his grandfather, for fear of being scolded, so he could only grit his teeth and call Zhao Qibing, the local boss of Donghai.

When Zhao Qibing heard that Right Panhu had lost his phone and wanted to get it back, he was slightly taken aback. How much could a phone possibly be worth? Was it worth mobilizing all this effort to recover? So he said, puzzled, "Just buy another one. Why bother looking for it?"

"Young Master Bing, you don't understand. There's something important on my phone!" Right Panhu said helplessly. If it weren't for the pill refiner's data on it, why would he bother?

"Oh..." Zhao Qibing paused, then let out a lewd laugh. "I get it. Is it a sex tape of you and your girlfriend? And your girlfriend is from a prestigious family, so it can't get out?"

"Something like that..." Right Panhu was rather speechless and couldn't be bothered to explain.

"Fine. Tell me the model and color of your phone, and I'll ask around about Donghai's pickpocket rings right now," Zhao Qibing said. "But I can look for it, but you have to agree to one thing!"

Right Panhu was about to thank him, but the second half of Zhao Qibing's sentence made him secretly annoyed. So it really wasn't free help—wasn't this just using the opportunity to extort him? But Right Panhu had no choice. To get his phone back, he could only say, "What thing?"

"Get Wei Zhao to break my legs!" Zhao Qibing said.

"What? You want Wei Zhao to break your legs? And you want me to help?" Right Panhu was shocked. "Get lost, I'm not looking for death! Forget the phone!"

"No, you heard me wrong!" Zhao Qibing said hurriedly. "I mean get Wei Zhao to break my legs, not his!"

"Break yours?" Right Panhu froze. "Are you sure you've got it right? Or did I hear you wrong?"

"Neither. It's Wei Zhao breaking both my legs, and you help me create an opportunity. How about it?" Zhao Qibing said.

"Pff..." Right Panhu was a little dumbfounded. "Zhao Qibing, are you running a fever?"

"No. Just tell me if you'll do it or not, and don't worry about the rest! If a second young master of the Right Family can go looking for a phone, can't I do something a little unexpected?" Zhao Qibing shot back.

"That's true enough. Fine, I can help you with this." To Right Panhu, it was a pretty simple condition. Getting Wei Zhao to break Zhao Qibing's legs would pose no difficulty at all for Wei Zhao—it was a mere lift of the hand. As a fellow student, if he went to ask Wei Zhao, Wei Zhao should agree, right?

"Then it's settled. Wait for my call," Zhao Qibing said.

"Okay." After hanging up, Right Panhu actually felt relieved. If he could find the phone as quickly as possible, that would be for the best.

At the Qingrun City branch of the Red Conch, Little Tongzi stood cautiously at Big Feng's side, while Big Feng wore a "sorrowful" expression as he gazed at the corpse of Military Advisor Zhuge on the ground before him.

The headquarters had sent people as well—an elder and a guardian of the Fire Wolf Gang had arrived. This elder was Big Feng's backer, and also the man leading the investigation into this matter on behalf of the higher-ups!
