Chapter 3454 — A Threat to Wei Zhao
Or rather, the man was with the casino, but his motives were anything but pure.
"We're just a few broke students. We don't have any money. Kidnapping us won't get you anything!" Fan Ganhe burst out. "There are so many rich bosses and millionaires out there—why not grab one of them? Why us?"
"Shut up!" Tu Feng shot Fan Ganhe a cold glare. "If you want someone to blame, blame the fact that you know Wei Zhao. He and I have a score to settle. To draw him out, I had no choice but to use you as bait!"
There was no reason for Tu Feng to hide it. They had already been captured—what was the point of secrecy now?
"What?" Zhang Duopan was struck dumb. He had never imagined that this was the reason! So Tu Feng and Wei Zhao were not friends but enemies! If he had known, he never would have been stupid enough to cozy up to him. If he had just kept his distance, he would not be in this mess. This was all about revenge on Wei Zhao, and he had been dragged into it!
"Big brother, I lied to you earlier—Wei Zhao and I are actually bitter enemies! If you grab me, Wei Zhao will only be happier. There's no way he'll come!" Zhang Duopan said hastily.
"Didn't you say he was Wei Zhao's underling, that he shares a dorm with Wei Zhao? What's this now—sworn enemies?" Tu Feng sneered.
"That part's true. He really is Wei Zhao's underling, and they do share a dorm—but I'm not! My relationship with Wei Zhao is terrible. I can't stand him!" Zhang Duopan said.
"You expect me to believe that? You're Wei Zhao's sworn enemy, he's Wei Zhao's underling, and yet the two of you go out and have fun together. Who do you think you're fooling?" Tu Feng looked at Zhang Duopan with open derision.
"Uh... well... I'll be honest with you. Bai Weituo there—Wei Zhao's underling—and I are both pursuing the same girl, so that's why we came out together. There's nothing else between us. In fact, we're rivals in love!" Zhang Duopan said.
"Oh? And what does that have to do with anything?" Tu Feng countered.
"So you can let me go, big brother! Just keep Bai Weituo. He's the only one who matters. Hold on to him and Wei Zhao will definitely come. I'm not lying to you!" Zhang Duopan said quickly.
"And then let you go?" Tu Feng asked.
"That's right!" Zhang Duopan nodded.
"And then you go to the police, and we're all finished. Isn't that how it goes?" Tu Feng said mildly.
"How could I? How could I possibly go to the police! I'd be glad to see Bai Weituo dead!" Zhang Duopan said.
"But you like this girl, don't you? She's been seized along with you. Could you really not call the police to save her? You wouldn't play the hero and rescue the beauty?" Tu Feng countered.
"Well... why don't you let her go too? Just keep Bai Weituo!" Zhang Duopan said.
"From what I can see, she favors Bai Weituo over you. If I'm not mistaken, she and Bai Weituo are already a couple, aren't they? If I let her go, could she possibly not try to save him?" Tu Feng gave a scornful laugh. "Enough. Don't waste your breath. Sit tight and behave. I won't do anything to you—my boss's target is Wei Zhao!"
With that, Tu Feng turned to the four burly men. "Lock them in the back room. Give them something to eat at mealtimes. The rest of the time, leave them alone!"
"Yes, Mr. Tu!" the four men answered at once. Then each seized one of them and tossed Bai Weituo and the other three straight into the back room of the office, slamming the door shut with a bang!
"Good God, Bai Weituo, we've been dragged into this because of your leader. If not for him, how could we have been caught?" Zhang Duopan complained in frustration.
"You're blaming me? If you hadn't been showing off and trying to cozy up to him, going on about how Wei Zhao was your friend, would any of this have happened?" Bai Weituo snapped. "Blame your own stupidity and stop pointing fingers at other people!"
"All right, both of you, stop arguing. The priority isn't fighting—it's figuring out what we do now!" He Meiyue frowned. "I just don't know... will Wei Zhao really come to save us?"
"He should come. It's just that these people are clearly prepared for him. I don't know whether there'll be danger..." Bai Weituo smiled bitterly. "We really are troublemakers, aren't we? One outing, and we land in a mess this big!"
"There's nothing we can do about it now. All we can do is wait," He Meiyue consoled him. "But Wei Zhao is so capable. I'm sure he'll be fine..."
"I hope so!" Bai Weituo sighed.
Listening to the two of them, Zhang Duopan and Fan Ganhe felt somewhat relieved. Thank goodness Bai Weituo was here—Wei Zhao would surely come. Once he arrived, they would be of no further use and would certainly be released. All they had to endure was being locked up a while longer.
After Tu Feng left, he went to report to Sect Master Kun Cun, telling him that all these people were Wei Zhao's classmates. Kun Cun was thrilled and immediately dialed Wei Zhao's number!
Wei Zhao's phone number was no secret. He had found it out long ago, but had never called—there had been no reason to. If he had bluntly said he wanted to settle a score and summon Wei Zhao to Southeast Asia, Wei Zhao would never have come.
Wei Zhao wasn't crazy. If you wanted to settle a score, you came yourself—why would you expect the other party to deliver himself to your door? That would take some kind of lunacy!
"Is this Wei Zhao?" Kun Cun said once the call connected.
"Speaking. And you are?" Staring at the unfamiliar number, listening to the unfamiliar voice, Wei Zhao had no idea who it was.
"Heh heh, allow me to introduce myself. I am Kun Cun, sect master of the Right Miao Sect of Southeast Asia!" Kun Cun chuckled. "You know Pu Huotai, don't you? I don't suppose you remember him?"
"Pu Huotai?" Wei Zhao frowned slightly, his heart tightening. Of course he remembered the man—Pu Huotai had colluded with the hidden Zhao family to abduct Chen Xi and do her harm, and Wei Zhao had killed him! And what did the owner of this phone number want? Keeping his expression neutral, Wei Zhao said, "What if I do? What if I don't?"
"Pu Huotai was a disciple of my Right Miao Sect! You killed him. Tell me—as sect master, shouldn't I settle that score?" Kun Cun said evenly. "Come to Southeast Asia now. I'll be waiting here."
"You want me to come? No time," Wei Zhao thought the man must be insane—summoning him and expecting him to obey. "I've got things to do. If you want to settle a score, come yourself. I'm not home, but you're welcome to wait outside my front door!"
"Very well, I won't force you. But those four classmates of yours will be staying here a long while..."
