Chapter 4091 — Miss Situ
At last, a party of riders came from afar and halted beside the unconscious [Wei Zhao].
"Why have we stopped?" From within a luxurious carriage refashioned from a spirit-beast mount came a woman's voice, honeyed and cloying to the bone.
One of the accompanying disciples stepped forward to examine [Wei Zhao], then reported back: "Miss [Situ], we've found an injured cultivator, unconscious. What would you have us do?"
"Oh? A man or a woman?" The woman in the carriage, addressed as Miss [Situ], asked at once.
"A man," the disciple replied.
"Wonderful—I've worn out iron shoes searching for what I sought, and now it comes to me without the slightest effort! Carry him up here and let me have a look!" Miss [Situ] at once ordered the carriage door opened and stepped out with a dainty, swaying gait.
The woman's face was like a peach blossom, thick with powder and paint; her figure was hot and alluring, and her garments so thin and sheer that her tender body showed dimly through them. Even those who attended her year in and year out could not help swallowing secretly at the sight, and the wholly natural, wanton seductiveness that radiated from every inch of her was enough to rob a man of his aged life—no one could keep hold of himself.
"Search him thoroughly, see what sort of man he is." Miss [Situ] eyed [Wei Zhao] up and down, her魅 eyes like silk threads, and gave the order to her accompanying disciple.
"Yes." The disciple obeyed at once and ran his hands carefully over [Wei Zhao]. He found nothing at all—only a map, in whose corner was engraved the mark of the North Island Cultivators' Guild.
"Miss [Situ], if I'm not mistaken, this man must be a North Island cultivator. And judging by his attire, he should be a lone cultivator—unlikely to be a disciple of the North Island's Triple Tier Pavilion," the disciple reported.
"A North Island lone cultivator?" Miss [Situ]'s bewitching eyes curved at once into crescents, and she laughed coquettishly. "Then it's all the better. Lift him up and take him back with us."
"Miss [Situ], you mean..." The disciple asked for confirmation, somewhat uncertain.
Miss [Situ] smiled a charming smile and licked her vermilion lips temptingly. "It's decided—this is the one. No need to keep looking."
The disciple nodded quickly. "Yes. Then shall we treat his wounds? From the look of him, if he isn't treated, he won't last long."
"Mm, you have a point. Treat him, then—but no need for any fine pills. So long as he's brought back to life, that will do." Miss [Situ] gave the order offhandedly, then tossed out a third-grade Great Return Pill.
The disciple caught it hurriedly, forced it into [Wei Zhao]'s mouth, and had him thrown onto a spirit-beast cart behind them. Then he asked again, "Miss [Situ], shall we head back now?"
"Of course—we set out for Middle Island at once!" A note of impatient excitement had crept into Miss [Situ]'s tone.
"Yes!" The disciple at once had the party turn around and retrace the road by which they had come.
Though [Wei Zhao]'s body remained unconscious, his primordial spirit, nursed within the jade pendant's space, had by now recovered almost fully. Relying on his divine sense, he had every detail of this clear as day.
"From the sound of Miss [Situ]'s tone, could there be some unspeakable business? She doesn't feel like a good woman of pure heart—loading me onto this carriage seems to be for some other purpose. There are even guards clearing the way, and everyone calls her 'Miss'—why does it feel as though I've gone back to the ancient days?" [Wei Zhao] could not help but wonder to himself.
Still, the woman had fed him a third-grade Great Return Pill, and that had been a great help to him. His primordial spirit had recovered, but healing the wounds of his flesh still required time and careful self-cultivation; this third-grade Great Return Pill would help him recover from his bodily injuries all the faster.
Half a day later, [Wei Zhao] finally came groggily awake—and the place the carriage had reached gave him a great shock. They had already come near the edge of the mountain forest, a stretch of land wholly unfamiliar to him!
[Wei Zhao] frowned inwardly. He could vaguely recall that before losing consciousness he had been fleeing for his life at breakneck speed and was already close to the edge of Mount Hucai Tianwu. From the look of things now, they had likely long since left the bounds of Mount Hucai Tianwu—he could not even find their present position on the mission map the North Island Cultivators' Guild had given him.
And to [Wei Zhao]'s knowledge, once one left the mountain forest entirely, only two possibilities remained: one was to return to North Island, and the other was to enter Middle Island.
But judging by the surrounding terrain, [Wei Zhao] had not the faintest recollection of it, and it could not be matched to the map's route at all. That is to say, the direction this party was traveling was very likely not North Island, but Middle Island!
[Wei Zhao] had only just come to when Miss [Situ] received word, and came in person to [Wei Zhao]'s cart. In that honeyed, bone-melting voice of hers, she asked, "My name is [Situ Qian]; I am the mistress of this party. Tell me, who are you? How did you come by such grievous wounds, and in a place as dangerous as Mount Hucai Tianwu?"
"Many thanks to Miss [Situ] for saving me. I am [Ling Yi], a lone cultivator of North Island. I came to Mount Hucai Tianwu on a mission and was set upon by spirit beasts..." [Wei Zhao] answered without betraying a thing.
Though he guessed the other party very likely had ulterior motives, he had no intention of leaving just yet. After all, his wounds had only just begun to heal, and he had no idea where he was; from the look of it, the map was now utterly useless. If he were to get off halfway, even with the Heavenly Thunder Pig, he would likely have a hard time finding his way back.
After all, the Heavenly Thunder Pig's innate gift was for finding treasure, not for finding the road.
"Oh, I see." [Situ Qian] showed no suspicion. She nodded, then suddenly leaned forward and struck a pose of such temptation as to make a man spurt blood. "I've heard people say there are no female cultivators on North Island. So—do you think I'm beautiful?"
[Wei Zhao] was slightly taken aback, somewhat at a loss. Measured by ordinary eyes, this Miss [Situ] had a figure worth having and looks worth admiring—she was a rare stunner of the mortal world.
And yet there was a lewdness in [Situ Qian] that seemed to seep into the bone, which [Wei Zhao] found rather unpleasing—it even made him involuntarily think of another woman of a very similar air, [Murong Zhen].
And if it came to true beauty, this [Situ Qian] could not even begin to compare with those girlfriends of his in the mortal world. Even his little, little, little, little, little wife, [Bingtang Xueli], could have left her several streets behind.
Still, no matter what, this woman had just saved his life. Had he not run into this party and been left lying unconscious in that forest, who knows whether some passing spirit beast would have eaten him. (To be continued..) R752
