Chapter 189 — Smash It Outright

The Blossom Guardian · Page 2 of 2

"This..." The barbecue woman and the tall, thin man exchanged glances, wanting to object yet not daring to. Who knew whether Wei Zhao might suddenly turn on them?

"Xiaobo?" Having spoken, Wei Zhao paid the two accomplices no further mind and turned to call out to Kang Xiaofeng.

"Boss, I'm right here, you called me?" Kang Xiaofeng came running over, aglow with excitement. Badass, truly badass. Though only a follower, Kang Xiaofeng had watched the whole affair from behind Wei Zhao, and it had set his blood racing.

"Go smash his stall," Wei Zhao said, pointing at Zhang Biaogan, then turned to Kang Xiaofeng.

"You got it!" Kang Xiaofeng nodded and strode toward Zhang Biaogan's stall. In full view of everyone, he kicked the stall, sending it flying over outright—charcoal, skewers of meat, the cash box, all tumbling every which way across the ground...

Not yet satisfied, Kang Xiaofeng stamped again and again on the barbecue grill, trampling it out of shape until using it again was basically impossible...

Zhang Biaogan's heart was bleeding, yet he did not dare say a single word of protest... Smashing the stall was one thing—but what if the man decided to smash him next? Last time Bu Ruoming had beaten him so badly he couldn't get out of bed for days. This Lin fellow... Just thinking of it sent a cold sweat down Zhang Biaogan's back.

"That's enough." Wei Zhao waved a hand at Kang Xiaofeng, signaling that he could come back. Then he turned to Zhang Biaogan and said, "This time we smash the stall. Next time we smash the man. This spot of yours is pretty good. Tomorrow it goes to Tang's. You have no objection, I take it?"

"I... I don't... I don't have any..." Zhang Biaogan could only nod. What else could he say? The man had made himself perfectly clear: this time the stall, next time the man. He reckoned that if he so much as breathed a word of refusal, they would set about smashing him right then and there, and keep smashing until he agreed...

"You seem obedient enough, so Tang's old spot goes to you. Tomorrow you sell something else." Wei Zhao reassigned Zhang Biaogan's trade as well. "No problem, right?"

"Fine, I'll change trades, I definitely will—" Zhang Biaogan nodded. His grill had been smashed to pieces anyway; even if he wanted to keep at it, he could not. Being allowed to switch was no bad thing.

Even if Wei Zhao told him to sell barbecue now, he would not dare. If he ever stole customers from Tang's again and that jinx Wei Zhao came back to smash his stall a second time, who could withstand it?

"Xiaobo, when you have a moment tomorrow, take a stroll over and see whether they have all changed trades. If not, smash it outright." Wei Zhao gave Kang Xiaofeng his orders.

"No problem, Boss, leave it to me. I'm good at this!" Kang Xiaofeng nodded and accepted the task, grinning as he looked at the barbecue woman and the tall, thin man...

The last shred of hope for those two had been snuffed out. If they did not want a beating tomorrow, they had better change trades. They were somewhat regretful now that they had listened to Zhang Biaogan's sweet talk—get the recipe, split it three ways, and so on... Now even their trade had been changed for them. What use was a recipe anymore?

Naturally, Wei Zhao had no real intention of sending Kang Xiaofeng to patrol; it was merely to put the fear into these people. He had no time to spare for that. As for Zhang Biaogan, Wei Zhao felt not the least sympathy—the man had brought it entirely on himself.

He hoped the man would learn his lesson from this.
