"All right!" Wei Zhao nodded. There was still some time before the five-year term was up, so he was in no hurry to go home—except that he wondered whether Tang Zhi, once she heard, would be unhappy about it.
"Oh! Prophet Shu is amazing, la la la!" Shen Yushu cried out in excitement.
Gu Mengyao was delighted too, though she did not show it as plainly as Shen Yushu. She merely smiled slightly and said, "Wei Zhao, we'll be in your care from now on."
Wei Zhao was just about to tease the young lady when footsteps sounded once more in the villa's courtyard.
"Heh... another one come to die?" A cold smile flickered at the corner of Wei Zhao's mouth. "Fine. Saves me the trouble of coming to find them."
The Xiao family had also received word from An Liwen that day: that Gu Pengzhan was preparing to abscond with Gu Mengyao, and that the company's shares and assets had already been secretly transferred away. This threw the Xiao family into a furious rage!
The truth was that An Liwen feared one Yu family alone would not bring Gu Pengzhan enough pressure, so he had notified the Xiao family as well, hoping they too would pressure Gu Pengzhan—ideally driving him to the end of his rope, at which point An Liwen would appear like a savior, and Gu Pengzhan would have no choice but to accept his terms!

On the way, Xiao Ji called Gou Huli and told her to hurry over to Gu Mengyao's house as well. After all, this whole business had been stirred up by Gou Huli; letting her come and see the wretched state of Gu Pengzhan's family would also give Gou Huli a chance to vent her spleen.

The Yu family wanted all the shares of Gu Pengzhan's Gu Group, and did that not include Pengzhan Commercial Tower and Pengzhan Business Hotel as well?
So the Xiao family was getting anxious. If the Yu family beat them to it, what would be left for them? At a time like this, whoever struck first reaped the rewards, and whoever came late was out of luck! Given the Xiao family's current situation, if the Yu family really did take away all the shares of the Gu Group, how could the Xiao family still ask for shares in Pengzhan Commercial Tower and Pengzhan Business Hotel?
