Chapter 1012 — Hardly Able to Wait

"That's true!" Gu Mengyao nodded. "Then how should we play along?"
Gu Mengyao was a sensible sort, and when she heard of Feng Xiaoxiao's circumstances, genuine sympathy stirred in her heart. If there was something she could do for the girl, the young lady was willing enough to do it — only, being made the way she was, she wanted to help yet her tone stayed as flat and cool as ever.
"No need to go out of your way to befriend her. Take it slow and let things run their course." Wei Zhao did not really know what the best approach was either, so he could only take it one step at a time. At least if Yaoyao and Xiaoshu no longer held any hostility toward Feng Xiaoxiao, there would be far fewer clashes from here on.
"Oh, leave it to me." Shen Yushu, though, patted her chest with the air of one who had it all figured out. "I'll keep quarreling with her, and then we'll come to admire each other, and just like that we'll be good friends!"
Wei Zhao's eye twitched. He was truly afraid Shen Yushu would smack the swell of her chest so hard she'd burst it. Still, he could not help admiring the method she had proposed — it was also the most workable one.
"Heh heh, Xiaoshu, then I'll leave it to you." Wei Zhao nodded.
"Oh, I love doing things for Brother Arrow most of all. But once Feng Xiaoxiao is gone, you'll have to make it up to Xiaoshu properly!" Shen Yushu said.
"..." Wei Zhao's brow darkened. Put that way, Xiaoshu almost sounded as though she were waiting for Feng Xiaoxiao to die — though he knew she meant no harm by it. He rose to his feet. "I'm going to see Uncle Qing. You two keep watching TV. But as for the particulars, you can discuss them with Yunyun."
"Mm." Gu Mengyao had wanted an excuse to get better acquainted with Tang Zhi anyway, so once Wei Zhao finished speaking, she nodded quite naturally.
Wei Zhao got up and went into Uncle Qing's room. Uncle Qing had been staying in the villa these past two days, which made it convenient for Wei Zhao to treat his injuries.
When Uncle Qing saw Wei Zhao come in, he hurried to his feet. Toward Wei Zhao, Uncle Qing did not dare be the least bit negligent; his reverence for Wei Zhao came from the bottom of his heart. Wei Zhao was, so to speak, his savior — and if not for Wei Zhao, his meridians could never have been repaired!
One could say that Wei Zhao's kindness to Uncle Qing was nothing short of that of a parent who had given him a second life!
Toward Gu Pengzhan, Uncle Qing showed only the modest deference of an old friend; toward Gu Mengyao, he felt a doting affection that rose from the depths of his heart. Having lost both wife and daughter, he had come to regard the girl he had watched grow up as a daughter of his own.
"Xiaoyi, you're back!" Uncle Qing called Wei Zhao Xiaoyi, but only because Wei Zhao had insisted on it; even so, his words carried boundless reverence.
"Uncle Qing, how are you feeling?" Wei Zhao nodded and walked into the room. He had raised the matter of Uncle Qing's manner toward him twice already, but Uncle Qing remained the same, and there was nothing more Wei Zhao could do.
After all, Wei Zhao knew that the treatment he had given Uncle Qing was, by the standards of the martial world, nothing less than a grace of rebirth!
"Not bad — only the last meridian is left. Tonight it should be fully restored!" Uncle Qing said.
"Good. Then today we'll press on in one go and finish repairing your meridians!" Wei Zhao was a little impatient himself — after all, the strength of an Earth-rank expert was not to be underestimated! If Uncle Qing truly recovered his power, Wei Zhao would gain a top-tier right hand, and the threats of the Yu family, the Xiao family — all of them would cease to exist!
"Sorry to trouble you!" Uncle Qing nodded and sat down on the bed, waiting for Wei Zhao to come and channel his true qi into his body.
