"Is that so ..." Wei Zhao was struck momentarily speechless. Feng Xiaoxiao really did have the oddest fancies — only she could link such things together in her head. She truly was a peculiar one!
By now, where sea and sky met, a smear of crimson cloud had appeared, glittering with dazzling light: the sunrise was almost upon them.
"Oh!" A cheer rose from over by Shen Yushu — clearly they were watching the sunrise too.
"It's coming up!" Feng Xiaoxiao cried out excitedly, pointing toward the far edge of the sky.
Sure enough, a fiery red disc slowly floated up out of the sea, leaping bit by bit into the sky. The water's surface shimmered with a golden-red radiance — it was very beautiful.
Feng Xiaoxiao ate her fried egg and watched the sunrise in Wei Zhao's arms, perfectly happy. It was a lovely morning.
The sun was up; the chill of the sea would not last much longer, and the water's temperature climbed steadily higher.
The five of them finished breakfast. The original plan had been to change into swimsuits and go swimming in the sea, but the water was still a little cold, so the five of them sat on the beach and waited for the sun to warm it through before going in.
When the sun had fully risen, An Liwen and Su Taizao finally woke and came out of the tent. Seeing the five of them sitting on the beach, An Liwen did not hesitate in the slightest and hurried over: "Sister Yaoyao's up early! At the thought, An Liwen actually felt a touch of admiration for Wei Zhao: to be on such good terms with Shen Yushu — was there nothing the man was afraid of?
"Hahahaha!" Hearing Shen Yushu's words, Feng Xiaoxiao burst out laughing. Who would ever have guessed An Liwen had such a tragic past?
Gu Mengyao and Tang Zhi were too embarrassed to laugh out loud, but they too could hardly contain themselves. An Liwen really was unlucky!
"That's all childhood nonsense — best left unspoken!" An Liwen gave a hapless laugh. "Let's not talk about that. How about we go swimming in a bit? Oh, that's right — I even prepared swimsuits specially for you! Taizao, bring the swimsuits over and let Sister Yaoyao and the others have a look!"
"Sure, I'll get them right now!" Su Taizao went off to fetch the swimsuits, beaming with delight.
Very soon, Su Taizao was back, a great armful of swimsuits in his hands!
