Chapter 1300 — Sun Jingyan's Younger Brother

The Blossom Guardian · Page 1 of 2

With that, he signaled Li Cihua to wheel him out of that den of trouble, and they moved so fast that everyone present could scarcely believe it.

Sun Yikai was rather puzzled. Just who was this Wei Zhao, that he could frighten Zhao Qibing so badly? Wu Chengtian, though, was not surprised in the least. He already knew about Wei Zhao breaking both of Zhao Qibing's legs, and he had also heard how Wei Zhao had left the Yu family with one dead and one wounded. So seeing Wei Zhao again, his feelings were tangled indeed.

On one hand, he somewhat regretted having crossed Wei Zhao; on the other, he bitterly resented whatever it was between Wei Zhao and Sun Jingyan.

Wei Zhao watched Zhao Qibing's retreating back and said nothing much. He only turned to Sun Yikai. "Sun Yikai, isn't it? We meet again."

"You are...?" Sun Yikai looked at Wei Zhao in puzzlement. Clearly he no longer remembered where he had seen him.

"Wei Zhao. We met in the villa district at Sea View Villa Bay," Wei Zhao said with a smile. "You were driving a Ferrari."

"Ah!" At the reminder, Sun Yikai suddenly remembered where he had seen Wei Zhao. "You're... the one at Gu Mengyao's place..."

"Yes. I'm her attendant and bodyguard," Wei Zhao said with a nod.

"So it's you... Thank you for stepping in just now..." Now that he knew who Wei Zhao was, Sun Yikai could not help flushing. Back then he had boasted to Wei Zhao that he would look after him — and now, who was looking after whom?

"Come sit with us and talk?" Wei Zhao's impression of Sun Yikai was fairly good, so he extended the invitation.

"Then I'll gladly accept," Sun Yikai said with an easy nod.

Wu Chengtian's relationship with Wei Zhao was hardly friendly, so naturally he did not follow. There was nothing here for him now; he turned and went to find the two Xiao brothers.

Xu Shilan was sitting and chatting with Feng Xiaoxiao. Zhao Qibing's earlier harassment and Wei Zhao's forceful appearance had snuffed out any thought among the young gentlemen present of bothering Xu Shilan further. Many of them did not know who Wei Zhao was, but anyone who could make Zhao Qibing eat dirt was no ordinary man.

Besides, some of them had been present at the completion ceremony for Zhao Qibing's Qibing Tower, and they remembered Wei Zhao — the man who had wounded Uncle Zhu and broken both of Zhao Qibing's legs.

Who would go and poke that hornet's nest again?

Wei Zhao found a seat and sat down with Sun Yikai. "You're from the Sun family? What is Sun Jingyan to you?"

"You know my sister?" Sun Yikai was a little surprised. Wei Zhao was nothing but a bodyguard; that he had overawed Zhao Qibing had already exceeded Sun Yikai's expectations, and now, the moment he sat down, he brought up Sun Yikai's sister.

"I know her. We're on fairly good terms." Wei Zhao thought of his status as half a lover and felt caught between laughter and tears. What kind of bizarre status was that?

"Ah! Now I remember — you're Wei Zhao! My sister's boyfriend!" Sun Yikai slapped his forehead, linking the man before him with the man Sun Jingyan had spoken of.

A major reason Sun Yikai had come to Songshan City this time was to persuade Sun Jingyan to return to the Sun family and be betrothed to the Wu family. Sun Yikai himself studied in Songshan City, so the role of persuader had fallen to him.

But Sun Yikai was different from the rest of the Sun family. He and Sun Jingyan were close, and he did not weigh everything by profit alone, so the two of them got along well. On this visit, Sun Jingyan had told him plainly to go back and inform the Sun family that she already had a boyfriend, and that she did not like Wu Chengtian.

And from Sun Jingyan's own mouth, Sun Yikai had fished out the name of her boyfriend — Wei Zhao. Of course, he had no intention of reporting this faithfully to the Sun family. He simply wanted a chance to meet this prospective brother-in-law and vet him for his sister, to see what sort of man he was.
