Chapter 1405 — Teach Him a Lesson

The Blossom Guardian · Page 1 of 2

"Him? Then have him come in." Prompted by Li Cihua's words, Zhao Qibing too recalled such a person, and nodded, telling Su Jiaonang to fetch him.

Su Jiaonang murmured an acknowledgment, left the room, and a moment later came back with Zhao Fafa in tow. Seeing it was indeed him, Zhao Qibing nodded. "Zhao Fafa - what brings you here?"

"Cousin! I've been bullied! Haven't I come straight to you for help?" Zhao Fafa wasted no breath, stating his purpose head-on.

"You've been bullied? By whom?" Zhao Qibing frowned. "What exactly happened?"

"It's like this: my father has gone into partnership with you, Cousin, hasn't he? He's made a good deal of money lately and bought a villa in the compound. I spotted a little number there and wanted to make a play for her, but her boyfriend caught wind of it, and so..." Zhao Fafa recounted his clash with Wei Zhao from beginning to end, though he never let slip the names of Wei Zhao or Tang Zhi. In his eyes they were nobodies - Zhao Qibing could never have heard of them - so he left the names out altogether.

"Oh? What's this kid's background?" Listening to Zhao Fafa's sordid little mess, Zhao Qibing thought the fellow was beneath contempt: couldn't even land a girl, and still came crying for help - truly pitiful. Had Zhao Guangsi and the Zhao family not been doing business together of late, Zhao Qibing couldn't be bothered with such a relative dropped out of God knows where!

"No real background that I know of - just a second-generation rich kid. He goes around in a Bentley, but of course nothing like you, Cousin!" Zhao Fafa said.

"Still, you say this kid knows how to fight, and not one of your little street toughs was his match. An ordinary man won't do you any good; to teach him a lesson we'd have to send a cultivator." Zhao Qibing paused. "But mobilizing a cultivator over such a trifle - isn't that rather overkill?"

"Not overkill at all! Cousin, this is our Zhao family's chance to make a name. I threw your name at him once before, and he said he'd never heard of you - didn't know who you were!" Zhao Fafa, heaping oil and vinegar on the fire, began to spin his tale. "Look at that - infuriating! What manner of trash is he, not even knowing your great name, Cousin!"

"Hmm... I come out of a hidden aristocratic family; I keep a low profile, so it is only natural that no one knows my name. Besides, those who do know me are the notables of Songshan City - stray cats and dogs of that sort naturally would not." Zhao Qibing said as much, yet inwardly he was vexed. Boss Zhu's overtures over the past two days had swelled his confidence, and hearing that someone looked down on him was hardly pleasant. "In that case, let Uncle Zhu go with you. Uncle Zhu, your wounds have only just healed - how about going out to stretch your legs?"

"No problem. Whatever Young Master Bing says, I shall go out for a bit of exercise." So spoke Uncle Zhu when he had heard. In truth he had grown a shade bored these past weeks and would not have minded loosening his muscles and bones - though teaching a young master who knew a few tricks of martial arts was something of a waste of the trip.

"Thank you, Cousin!" Of late Zhao Fafa had learned from his father certain secrets about the great families: within them dwelt cultivators, and even the lowest, Huang-tier cultivators could scale walls and leap across rooftops, could shatter great boulders with a single fist - a truly formidable kind of being!

And Uncle Zhu was plainly such a cultivator. Zhao Fafa did not yet know his rank, but in his eyes Wei Zhao was already a dead man. To cross a cultivator was nothing but an old man helping himself to arsenic - courting death!
