After leaving Fushan Middle School, Wei Zhaodian told Uncle Qing about Ying Ziyu and Chen Xi. Uncle Qing agreed without the slightest objection. To him, it was a simple favor, and Wei Zhaodian was also a shareholder of the Gu Group.
Thinking over everything he had needed to settle before leaving, Wei Zhaodian finally breathed a sigh of relief. In truth, what worried him most about this departure was the safety of the eldest young miss, Xiaoshu, and Tang Zhi. He had even considered forcibly raising them all to the Earth Class, but for the moment he had no suitable internal cultivation method for them to practice.
The Xuanyuan Dragon-Control Formula was not suitable for women, and Wei Zhaodian had no other internal cultivation methods in hand. The difference between humans and spirit beasts was that spirit beasts could increase their strength without an internal cultivation method, whereas humans could not. Thus, Wei Zhaodian planned to search at leisure for a method suitable for the eldest young miss and the others. Once he found one, he would no longer have to worry so much.
On the drive back to the villa, Wei Zhaodian thought of Qiu Lingshan and Chen Yuxuan. He wondered how they were doing, and whether the tomb-raiding affair had been resolved. After a moment's thought, he decided to call Qiu Lingshan before he left and let her know. After all, the two of them had become good friends, and he had no idea how long it would be before he returned. When she solved cases in the future, he might not be able to help her either.
With that in mind, Wei Zhaodian dialed Qiu Lingshan's number.
Qiu Lingshan had actually been debating whether to call Wei Zhaodian herself. She knew he was a doctor, and although Chen Yuxuan was currently receiving the best treatment at the hospital, she felt Wei Zhaodian was probably more capable. Besides, while they had been in the ancient tomb, Elder Yu had seemed to mention that the Mighty General beside Wei Zhaodian was a healing-type spirit beast.
Qiu Lingshan had no idea whether Elder Yu had simply been talking nonsense. She knew where that dog had come from: it had merely been an ordinary dog whose strength Wei Zhaodian had forcibly raised. It was no different from her or Chen Yuxuan in that regard. How could it possibly be a spirit beast?
For that reason, Qiu Lingshan was not entirely convinced that the spirit beast could heal injuries.
But whether she believed it or not, Qiu Lingshan felt she ought to tell Wei Zhaodian. In her eyes, Wei Zhaodian was practically omnipotent. Whenever something happened, all she had to do was find him; no matter how difficult the problem, he could resolve it with ease.
Chen Yuxuan, however, had forbidden her from telling Wei Zhaodian, leaving Qiu Lingshan in a difficult position. On the one hand, she did not want to break her promise. On the other, she genuinely felt that Wei Zhaodian might be the only person capable of solving the problem.
As Qiu Lingshan wavered indecisively, her phone rang.
Assuming it was a colleague calling, Qiu Lingshan gathered her thoughts and answered. "Hello?"
"It's Wei Zhaodian," he said. "Everything all right on your end? I'm planning to leave in a few days."
