Chapter 1573 — Destined to Meet

The Blossom Guardian · Page 1 of 2

"Don't worry, Young Master You - consider it done!" Having followed Young Master You for so long, the yellow-haired fellow knew his master's tastes inside out; every time Young Master You ruined a girl, he was the one who had helped. "And that one too - she looks quite something, fair and delicate. I love going after top students like her! Keep a close eye on her for me!" Young Master You instructed the yellow-haired fellow.

Inside the examination room, Wei Zhao still had no idea that Young Master You had already gone downstairs to round up people. Had Wei Zhao known earlier just how much mischief this kid was plotting, he would have dealt with him long ago!

After handing in his paper, Wei Zhao and Wang Xinyan walked out of the examination room side by side.

"You..."

"You..."

Wei Zhao and Wang Xinyan opened their mouths at almost the very same time.

"You go first..." Wang Xinyan said to Wei Zhao.

"You go first..." Wei Zhao said at the very same moment.

"How did you do on the exam?" The two spoke in unison once again.

Having said that, the two could not help but look at each other and break into laughter, each astonished by the other's uncanny coincidence.

Come to think of it, Wei Zhao felt that he and Wang Xinyan truly had a fated connection - between them there were simply too many coincidences. Whether going out or taking exams, he always happened to run into her at the most unexpected moments.

"I did alright..." Wang Xinyan smiled. "About what happened just now, I really have to thank you, but your method was a bit too dangerous..."

In Wang Xinyan's eyes, Wei Zhao was an extraordinary person - from the very first time she saw him, he had been full of the unbelievable!

On the train, he had been swindled out of money by some con artists, and she had been silly enough to want to warn him, but only after getting off the train did she discover that all the money the con artists had taken had ended up in Wei Zhao's backpack.

And this time had made Wang Xinyan's heart pound even more - Wei Zhao had actually thrown the person who provoked her out of a third-floor window. Fortunately the person was unharmed; otherwise, wouldn't Wei Zhao have become a murderer?

"It wasn't dangerous. That person is a cultivator - a fall can't kill him." Wei Zhao knew that Wang Xinyan had kinship ties with the Xiao family and must therefore know about cultivators, so he explained honestly.

"A cultivator? No way? Does that mean... you're also a cultivator?" Wang Xinyan's eyes went wide as she looked at Wei Zhao with curiosity.

Although the term "cultivator" was not unfamiliar to Wang Xinyan, it was also somewhat remote. Though the Xiao family was one of the great families, apart from Uncle Pi who held the fort, there were no other cultivators in the family. After Uncle Pi died, she heard that a few cultivators had arrived, but by then the Xiao family had already broken off the engagement with the Kang family, and they had no further contact with Wang Xinyan. Naturally, her relationship with the Xiao family grew distant.

So even though Wang Xinyan knew about cultivators, it was merely hearsay. She had never even laid eyes on Uncle Pi, and the only cultivator she had ever met was Wu Chengtian. At the time, she had felt that cultivators were beings far removed from her, utterly beyond reach.

Yet she had never dreamed that Wei Zhao was himself a cultivator! And now Wang Xinyan understood why Wei Zhao was so capable - he was a cultivator! Naturally, for a cultivator, toying with a few con artists, healing an ordinary person, or tossing that yellow-haired fellow out the window were nothing remarkable.

"That's right - I just happen to be slightly stronger than him." Wei Zhao smiled. "How about you? Your affairs in Yanjing... are they all resolved? Weren't you supposed to get engaged to Kang Jinglong?"
