Chapter 1855 — Something Forgotten

The Blossom Guardian · Page 1 of 2

Inside the business van, Zhao Qibing, who a moment ago had been boasting loudly, fell silent at the sight of the three Earth-rank experts who had vanished before his eyes!

Kang Jingming, too, stared blankly, unable to believe what he was seeing. One move? Truly one move? Three Earth-rank experts—just gone, like that? He could scarcely credit it. That Wei Zhao who had been beaten to a pulp and left covered in wounds by You Shisan—how had he suddenly become so terrifying?

"Run... run..." Yu Huoxing forced two words out of his throat, nearly frightened out of his wits. Was this even human? One move, and three Earth-rank experts were annihilated—one of them a late Earth-rank, no less. Could Wei Zhao have already ascended to Heaven-rank, and all this time been playing the pig to eat the tiger?

Yu Huoxing's words jolted Zhao Qibing and Kang Jingming back to their senses. The business van belonged to the Zhao family, and Zhao Guang'er had been driving—but now there was no driver. Zhao Qibing scrambled and tumbled into the driver's seat, started the engine, and stomped the accelerator to the floor, fleeing this horrifying place like a madman!

"Phew..." Only when Yu Huoxing sensed that Wei Zhao had not noticed the van on this side, nor given chase, did he let out a long breath!

Thank heavens he had not been foolish enough to go seek revenge—otherwise he would have died without even knowing how. Truly, without knowing how. Yu Huoxing was an Earth-rank expert, yet he could not discern what martial art Wei Zhao had used, to conjure in the space of a single gesture a crimson mist that rolled like wind-swept clouds, blotting out the sky and sun, and then in an instant blast a man into nothing but ash—it was simply too eerie and too horrifying.

Zhao Qibing and Kang Jingming were scared out of their wits as well. Three Earth-rank experts—in their eyes, lofty, invincible beings—and not one could last a single move against Wei Zhao? And now, at last, Zhao Qibing believed what Zhao Qilei had told him: Wei Zhao, that creature, would every so often make a pile of enemies, then find it too much trouble to go after them—so he would feign injury, or qi deviation, or total loss of strength, and wait at home for his foes to come knocking, then cut them down one by one...

At this thought, Zhao Qibing felt a chill run down his spine. Too sinister—this creature had truly become addicted to playing the pig to eat the tiger!

Never again. He would absolutely not be fooled next time. Anyone who went again was a fool—a great big fool!

Kang Jingming was cursing inwardly too. What a con! Had he known Wei Zhao was this formidable, he would never have had You Shisan stir up trouble with him. Now look at the mess—who knew whether the Hidden You family could even spare any more experts to come hold the fort!

"Let's go back..." Though Wei Zhao had won, his heart was still pounding with lingering fear!

If even one small link in the chain had gone wrong earlier, he could never have achieved that one-move annihilation. Of course, the result had far exceeded Wei Zhao's own expectations—he had never dreamed he could burn all three of them to ash.

As Wei Zhao saw it, expelling the fire-poison true qi from his body would only waste it. Better to make use of the waste—treat it like a true-qi bomb and give the three of them a taste. Even if it was not as heaven-defying as a true-qi bomb, it could still deal them grave injury; and so long as the three experts were badly hurt, he would have a chance to escape. But who would have thought the blast would be so thorough—the three of them simply ceased to exist.

What Wei Zhao did not know, however, was that this was fire-poison true qi born of the second layer of the Xuanyuan Dragon-Taming Art—true qi that even the Ice Spirit Sacred Fruit could not fully suppress. With ordinary qi deviation, once one had taken the Ice Spirit Sacred Fruit, there was no need to expel the fire poison oneself at all.
