"Us too!" Seeing someone had beaten them to it, the rest of the boys were naturally unwilling to be outdone.
"Good. The song I've prepared for everyone is called 'The Story of Youth.' It's one of my breakout works, both words and music by me. It has quite a lot of harmony and narration, and the whole song is essentially a little stage play. I'm sure everyone who has seen the music video knows that it was shot on a university campus. What we're going to do is recreate that music video on the stage!" Xu Shilan said.
Just as Xu Shilan said, the music video for "The Story of Youth" had been filmed on a school campus, and it was a short scenario drama. It sang of beautiful university life — love, friendship, and the frantic last-minute cramming before exams. The theme of the whole song was precisely a microcosm of university life, and presented at a freshman gala, it would be hard not to win an award!
With the star power of Xu Shilan, the original singer, plus the students' accompanying performance, it was likely to cause an unprecedented sensation.
"What everyone needs to do next is familiarize yourselves with this song, then pick stand-ins for the few supporting roles in the music video. The rest can wait until I arrive tomorrow for rehearsal," Xu Shilan said.
"No problem, don't worry, Xu Shilan. I'm Bai Weituo, the class monitor — I'll definitely get it done!" Bai Weituo said, thumping his chest in tremendous excitement. Xu Shilan was going to such lengths to help everyone — although he knew it was because of Wei Zhao — but after all, the one she was helping was Bai Weituo himself. How could he not be excited?
Besides, He Meiyue's idol was Xu Shilan. Zhang Duopan had invited Xu Shilan's junior apprentice sister precisely to curry favor with He Meiyue. After all, apart from Xu Shilan, He Meiyue was also very fond of Cheng Yiyi.
But with Xu Shilan present, He Meiyue naturally preferred Xu Shilan even more.
"Good, Bai Weituo. Then I'll leave everyone's rehearsal in your hands for now!" Xu Shilan said. "All right, see you tomorrow. I have to get busy here now. Everyone, keep it up!"
"Yes, we'll definitely keep it up!" Bai Weituo and the classmates present all said in unison.
The three of them — You Panhu and his companions — were thoroughly depressed. They had originally meant to make trouble for Bai Weituo after seeing that he was one of Wei Zhao's people, but now it seemed the trouble was no trouble at all. So the three of them slunk out of Wei Zhao's dorm room in disgrace...
After the video call ended, the entire medical and pharmaceutical major was fired with enthusiasm, and everyone demanded that rehearsal begin right away. Bai Weituo excitedly downloaded the music video for Xu Shilan's "The Story of Youth" from the internet and played it for everyone, then began selecting from among the classmates the supporting roles and extras corresponding to those in the video!
"Brother Lin, which role do you want to play?" Bai Weituo naturally let Wei Zhao choose first. After all, Xu Shilan had been invited by Wei Zhao, so it was only proper to let him pick first, and no one else would object.
