Could it be her? The Hacker Princess? Thinking of Yang Qiqi's identity—an assassin of Butterfly Castle—and the Hacker Princess was also of Butterfly Castle, also bore the childhood name Little Nine, and was likewise afflicted with illness... Could Yang Qiqi truly be seeking medicine for her?
The more he thought, the more Wei Zhao felt this possibility to be very high; otherwise the coincidence was simply too great... In that case, he was not merely helping Yang Qiqi, but helping an old acquaintance of his own! And at the thought of the Hacker Princess, Wei Zhao felt a faint headache coming on...
He had not been in touch with her for a long while. If he made contact again, would she be angry? After some thought, Wei Zhao dismissed the notion of calling her to interrogate her thoroughly. Whether it was her or not, he had merely gained one more reason to help Yang Qiqi.
"I see... But boss, your heart is truly too kind. Just for this, you would give away the earth-attribute Heaven Rank spirit beast's blood to that cold little girl for nothing..." Han Xiaohu said with genuine feeling.
"You brat—you profit and then play the innocent. So I can be good to you and help you level up, but I can't give someone else a little something?" Wei Zhao laughed.
"Haha, of course not..." Han Xiaohu was at once somewhat embarrassed.
"Let's go, back to rest. There's likely nothing more to do today," Wei Zhao said.
The night passed without a word. Early the next morning, Wei Zhao found Han Xiaohu and Yu Xiaoke waiting at the door of his room, neatly dressed, along with a thoroughly haggard Yang Qiqi whose eyes were somewhat red. Clearly Yang Qiqi had not slept well all night. Before Wei Zhao came out of his room, Yang Qiqi had been glaring at Yu Xiaoke the whole time—if looks could kill, Yu Xiaoke would by now have been dead on the spot.
But Yu Xiaoke paid Yang Qiqi no heed whatsoever. Though she felt a measure of sympathy for her, Yu Xiaoke was not a magnanimous person either. This little chit thought she could steal Wei Zhao's things and still have right on her side? So Yu Xiaoke did not even glance at her, leaving Yang Qiqi's glares utterly wasted, without the slightest effect.
Finding no outlet for her feelings, Yang Qiqi could only turn her grief-stricken, indignant gaze upon Wei Zhao—but Wei Zhao seemed to see nothing as well. He nodded to Han Xiaohu and asked, "What time does the auction begin?"
"Nine o'clock. Shall we go eat something first?" Han Xiaohu asked.
"All right," Wei Zhao said.
Yang Qiqi did not know that Wei Zhao had in fact deliberately let her steal the blue crystal. At this moment she still believed her deed had been exposed. Though Wei Zhao had said nothing, Yang Qiqi knew her chances were slim—and she herself did not know why she was following at Wei Zhao's side.
Was it to await another chance to steal the blue crystal? Or to kill Wei Zhao and avenge the humiliation he had dealt her? Yang Qiqi felt her mind a muddled, congealed mess, and she followed Wei Zhao to the dining hall like a walking corpse.
Wei Zhao ordered four breakfasts. Yang Qiqi sat there and refused nothing, eating her own portion, yet remaining silent and sparing of words as before.
Han Xiaohu did not call attention to it either. Though he knew Wei Zhao had already traded for the very thing Yang Qiqi needed, if Wei Zhao said nothing, Han Xiaohu naturally would not be the one to blab—he assumed Wei Zhao meant to teach Yang Qiqi a lesson.
In truth, Wei Zhao had no intention of teaching Yang Qiqi a lesson at all. It was simply that with Yu Xiaoke present, Wei Zhao felt awkward being too kind to Yang Qiqi!
