"What? Little brother Qibing, you can't be serious? How could you have such a thought?" Yushan put on a great show of shock, while inwardly he was thrilled to the bone that Zhao Qibing had taken the bait. "Let me tell you, our Hidden Yu Family is no ordinary family. If you did such a thing, it would blow up into a huge mess, and when that happens, you'd be in deep trouble..."
"Trouble? What trouble could there be? Could they string me up and kill me? The Hidden Yu Family is no ordinary family, but is the Hidden Zhao Family an ordinary one? And I'm the young heir of the Hidden Zhao Family. As long as I take responsibility for Yuning, won't that settle it? Family scandals shouldn't be aired in public, and the sensible thing is to hold the wedding as soon as possible!" Zhao Qibing was utterly unconvinced, privately thinking that Yushan had grown much more timid after becoming a cripple, and that he no longer thought things through properly.
"That... does seem to make a bit of sense?" Yushan feigned hesitation for a moment, then said, "But the key problem is, even if you wanted to force yourself on her, you wouldn't get the chance. Yuning stays inside the Hidden Yu Family all day and never goes out."
"Oh? Aren't you going to be my inside man, Big Brother Yushan?" Zhao Qibing laughed and spoke probingly, little realizing that while he thought he was testing Yushan, it was in fact Yushan who had led him, step by step, to this very topic.
"I... I..." Yushan's voice suddenly turned halting, as though frightened out of his wits. "Little brother Qibing, don't joke around. I'm a cripple, what kind of inside man could I be! My standing in the Hidden Yu Family is very low right now, so please don't get me into trouble!"
"Haha, Big Brother Yushan, how could I get you into trouble? If Yuning and I really made a go of it, I'd be your brother-in-law, and our families would be doubly bound by marriage!" Zhao Qibing said. "You have to help me with this, Big Brother Yushan!"
"I... how could I help you? Are you asking me to trick Yuning into coming out so you can force yourself on her? No, absolutely not!" Yushan shook his head and denied it again and again. Yet even as he denied it, he somehow managed to describe a method and hint it to Zhao Qibing. It had to be said that he was advancing step by step, his intentions anything but honorable.
"It's simple, isn't it? Didn't you say it yourself, Big Brother Yushan? All you have to do is find a chance to trick Yuning into coming out, and everything is solved. Big Brother Yushan, I'm begging you. As long as you help me with this, once I rise to power, I will never forget your kindness!" Zhao Qibing could not suppress his longing to carry out this plan. Zhao Qiwu's affair had provoked him, and he genuinely wanted the Yu Family's support; and then, too, he truly had set his eyes on Yuning. Whatever way you looked at it, this was all gain and no loss. "When I become the head of the family, there will certainly be benefits in it for you!"
"What use are benefits to a cripple like me?" Yushan said with a bitter smile. "Little brother Qibing, it's impossible for me to become the head of the family now. All this cripple wants is to live the peaceful life of a rich young master. Those risky things, I don't want to do them..."
"Don't say that!" Zhao Qibing grew anxious at once. The desire in his heart had been stirred, and if it went unfulfilled, he knew he would neither eat nor sleep in peace. "Big Brother Yushan, you may indeed be a cripple, but that doesn't stop you from becoming an elder of external affairs for the family. You could manage the Yu Family's business in the secular world and handle the household's provisions. As long as you have a voice in your hands, it's not impossible that you could recover. From what I know, the third-grade Great Return Pill should be able to heal your injuries, no? Severe as they are, they aren't the kind that can't be cured, are they?"
