Earth Drill Star sped along the whole way. As a skilled expert of the mid Heaven Rank, he was extremely fast, and before long he arrived at the Xuandan Sect, where Little Peach Blossom led him to the room where Tianchan was.
"Earth Drill Star of the Loess Plateau Sect pays his respects to the young sect master!" Though he was excited and eager to learn what method Tianchan had thought of, he still greeted her politely first.
"Earth Drill Star, you've come. No need for formalities." Tianchan waved a hand and pointed to the seat before her. "Sit first. We'll talk it over slowly."
"Very well!" Earth Drill Star nodded and respectfully sat down opposite Tianchan, yet he dared not sit too casually—he kept his back ramrod straight like a schoolboy in class—and then asked cautiously, "Young sect master, you had Manager Sun tell me that you had thought of a way?"
"Mm, I have thought of a way, yes. But whether it can be carried out will depend on you," Tianchan said with studied hesitation.
"Young sect master, whatever the way is, please, you must tell me. Even if we must cross mountains and rivers and scale every ridge, our Loess Plateau Sect will find a way to save the young sect master," Earth Drill Star said hurriedly.
"Mm, actually there's no need to cross mountains and rivers. The person who can help you is far away in the heavens, yet close at hand..." Before Tianchan could finish, Earth Drill Star cut in excitedly.
"It's you, young sect master?!" Earth Drill Star leapt to his feet and dropped to his knees with a thud, crying out, "Please, young sect master, save the life of our Young Master Tu!"
"Ahem..." Tianchan had not expected Earth Drill Star to interrupt at just that moment and fall to his knees, and she was somewhat at a loss for words. "Earth Drill Star, get up first. The person I meant is not me..."
"Not the young sect master?" Earth Drill Star was instantly bewildered. "Then what were you saying, young sect master..."
"What I mean is, this person is also a trial participant from this trial, and is currently staying at the Xuandan Sect inn," Tianchan explained.
"So that's how it is. My apologies, I got too excited..." Earth Drill Star said, rising somewhat awkwardly and rubbing his hands together.
"Mm, it's all right. I understand how anxious you are to save your master," Tianchan said with a nod of understanding.
"Young sect master, may I ask who this person is..." Earth Drill Star asked, barely able to contain himself.
"This person is Wei Zhao. I don't know whether you've heard of him?" Tianchan asked.
"Wei Zhao?" Earth Drill Star shook his head blankly. After Earth Overlord was injured, he had taken him back to their room and had no further contact with the other cultivators, so naturally he knew nothing of Wei Zhao. "Which sect is he from? What is his cultivation level?"
"He is an independent cultivator, of late Earth Rank strength," Tianchan said. "As far as I know, he is the only one who can help you. But whether he will help you, that I cannot say."
"Oh? An Earth Rank independent cultivator?" Earth Drill Star found this rather novel. "He can help me?"
"Indeed." Tianchan nodded firmly.
"Then I'll go find him right now!" Now that he knew the answer, Earth Drill Star did not want to delay. He rose, cupped his hands in salute, and made ready to leave. "Thank you for the guidance, young sect master. I'll be on my way!"
