"Who told you I'm crippled? And who told you I was poisoned?" Wei Zhao fixed his eyes on Elder Zhao and asked with mocking amusement. "Oh, that's right. That poison of yours was quite tasty. Right after I took it, it helped me break through to the Heaven Rank. A truly fine thing. Do you have any more? Give me another dose?"
"No... impossible! How can that be? Could it be..." Elder Zhao suddenly turned his head and glared at Elder You. "You old bastard You, you set me up! That wasn't poison, it was a drug for breaking through and advancing, wasn't it?"
Elder You was also taken aback, thinking, How could that be? That poison was given by the Xuandan Sect. How could it possibly be a drug for breaking through and advancing? But... Elder You suddenly thought of something: when Wei Zhao had been in trouble, the Heaven Silkworm Transformation had personally stepped in to resolve the trouble from the Dark Night Palace. Could it be that there was some unspeakable secret between the Xuandan Sect and Wei Zhao?
Although the drug had been given by Wei Zhao's rival, Kang Jingming, Kang Jingming was a pill refiner who had come to the craft late in life. How much knowledge of pharmacology and medicinal properties could he possibly have? What would he know? Perhaps he had been fooled by the Heaven Silkworm Transformation without even realizing it!
In that case, this poison really might be some scheme played by the Xuandan Sect! But no matter what, this was not something someone at Elder You's level could involve himself in. To think he had actually come running to join a plot to harm Wei Zhao—he really must have a death wish!
Even his own master, the Xuandan Sect, was helping Wei Zhao and did not want him dead. It seemed that his plans for secretly developing the You family would need some appropriate adjustments! At this thought, Elder You said mildly, "Yes, that's right, it was an advancement drug. So what if I was the one who gave it? I've been playing deep cover all along!"
"You bastard! You set me up!" Elder Zhao was so furious that his whole body twitched... He could not get a word out!
Wei Zhao, however, looked at Elder You with interest. His words were rather amusing—deep cover, indeed! But from the look of things now, that poison really had been given by the secret You family.
"So then, you three are all my allies?" Wei Zhao looked at Elder You, Sect Master Jin, and Sect Master Wo, and asked deliberately.
"That's right, though we wouldn't presume to call ourselves allies. We're just errand runners, peripheral underlings!" Elder You did not dare put on airs. The present Wei Zhao was no longer someone they could deal with.
Wei Zhao smiled and looked at them with profound meaning, saying lightly, "In that case, fine. Then help me wipe out the secret Zhao family. That will save me the trouble of acting myself!"
"What?" Elder You was instantly stunned at Wei Zhao's words! What? He was to act against the secret Zhao family himself?
Elder Zhao's expression was also extremely grim. He was furious that Wei Zhao would act against the secret Zhao family, yet he had no way to stop it, and could only try to frighten them. "Elder You, you had better think clearly. Don't fall for Wei Zhao's scheme. If you destroy our secret Zhao family, when the ancient sects learn of it, they will certainly not let you off easily!"
"Is that so?" Elder You made his decision very quickly. At this moment, if he did not act, Wei Zhao would probably destroy them along with the Zhao family. Elder You knew well how ruthless Wei Zhao was. When he had destroyed the secular Yu family, he had not even blinked, nor had he shown the slightest concern for the intervention of the secret families!
