"Sanhuang, don't worry. Shipian has already found a close bodyguard for Shihan—a Heaven-rank novice expert!" Feng Tianqi said. "All you need to do is dream up some reason and get Xu Shilan to accept this new bodyguard."
"Fine, that part I can manage easily enough!" Over the years, Feng Sanmang had stood at Xu Shilan's side and won her deep trust, yet he was still uneasy. "Master, he's a Heaven-rank novice expert as well—can he really stand against the Eastern family?"
"This is no ordinary Heaven-rank novice. This one can fight above his rank—heh, you'll see soon enough!" Feng Tianqi chuckled. "I'll send you his number; you can contact him directly."
"What? Fight above his rank? Whose disciple from some ancient sect is he?" Feng Sanmang was startled. Experts of that caliber were never ordinary—they were usually the prized pupils of ancient sects or families, like the Feng family's own Feng Nitian, all of them capable of battling above their rank.
But how could such a man possibly serve as Xu Shilan's bodyguard? These were all insufferably arrogant experts!

Feng Tianqi then told Feng Sanmang all of Wei Zhao's requirements and the precautions to observe.
"All right..." Feng Sanmang was puzzled, but he could only nod.
Not long after the call ended, a text message from Feng Tianqi arrived on Feng Sanmang's phone: a mobile number, and the name of its owner—"Ling Yi."
Once he had the number, Feng Sanmang went to see Xu Shilan.
"Brother Feng, did you need something from me?" Xu Shilan asked when she saw Feng Sanmang approaching. Normally, as her bodyguard and driver, he rarely spoke to her on his own initiative; work matters were all handled by Sister Wang.
"Miss Xu, I've received word that the group behind the earlier attacks on you is likely to strike again soon!" Feng Sanmang said gravely. "So, for your safety, I'd like to bring a friend of mine in to share responsibility for your protection."
"What? That bunch is going to try again?" Xu Shilan was startled. She had kept a low profile lately, and nothing unusual had happened for some time, so she had assumed the matter had blown over. To her surprise, they were still going to make a move!
"Yes. The information should be accurate," Feng Sanmang said with a nod.
"That's fine. As for salary and such, just talk to Sister Wang directly—an extra bodyguard is certainly better," Xu Shilan said, never doubting his words. She chose to trust him outright and nodded in agreement.
"However, my friend has other matters to attend to. Could we go and stay in his city for a while?" Feng Sanmang asked.
"What? Go to his city too..." Xu Shilan was slightly taken aback—not that she was unwilling, but a sudden move to an unfamiliar city would make her work rather difficult.
"That's a given. We're asking him for help, so we have to accommodate him, don't we?" Feng Sanmang said nothing about the fee; in fact, he had no idea how much it would be. In his view, it was already generous for a Heaven-rank novice expert to help at all!
"You have a point." Xu Shilan had none of the tantrums of those big stars. Hearing Feng Sanmang's words, she nodded and agreed.
But the manager, Sister Wang, had overheard the latter part of their conversation and was displeased. "Little Feng, isn't it enough that you're protecting Miss Xu? Why bring in someone else? If we go to another city, how are we supposed to do our work? Miss Xu is releasing an album in the first half of next year—if we end up in some small city with no recording studio, how can we make the album?"
"Sister Wang, let's do as Brother Feng says," Xu Shilan said with a shake of her head. She alone knew how vicious those people after her were. When she had run into trouble in that dark alley, if Wei Zhao hadn't stepped in, she would likely have been done for right there!
