Chapter 3341 — Nearly Exposed

The Blossom Guardian · Page 1 of 2

"Ahem..." Yu Dake was briefly taken aback, then realized Yu Xiaoke had misunderstood, and hurried to explain, "Xiaoke, Mr. Lin's main purpose isn't to come home with us at all—he has business to attend to in a great desert near here. It's only because I realized that desert is fairly close to our hometown that I suggested bringing you along!"

"Oh? Is that so?" Yu Xiaoke clearly did not quite believe it. "He has business to do—what does he want with you?"

"Xiaoke, you've got it all wrong! Mr. Lin may be fond of you, but this time he has no other intentions!" Yu Dake rushed to explain; he did not want his little sister to misunderstand the man who had saved his life. "The truth is, it all starts with a treasure map I gave him..."

With that, Yu Dake told Yu Xiaoke about the white energy stone and the treasure map. He had not gone into these matters with her in detail before—their earlier meetings had been too rushed to find the chance.

Then Yu Dake brought up the family's inherited martial art, his own voluntary request to bring Yu Xiaoke along, and the advantages of her training back in their hometown.

Only after hearing all this did Yu Xiaoke realize she had truly misjudged Wei Zhao. It seemed her prejudice against him ran deep—but if he had not been fond of her, if he had not wanted to pursue her, would she ever have misunderstood him?

"So that's how it is..." Though Yu Xiaoke felt a little embarrassed, the person across from her was her own brother, not Wei Zhao himself, so it hardly mattered. "Then... let's go. But on the road, if Wei Zhao tries to get close to me, you have to block him for me!"

"I'll do what I can..." Yu Dake actually rather liked the idea of Wei Zhao being with his sister, but she already had someone in her heart, which made matters rather difficult—leaving him caught in the middle.

Now that Yu Xiaoke had decided to go along, she threw herself into a flurry of activity, staying up the whole night to arrange matters at the orphanage and putting Xiaoken temporarily in charge of her post as deputy director, responsible for keeping the orphanage running.

Early the next morning, Yu Xiaoke rode in Yu Dake's car to Donghai City and arrived at the gate of Wei Zhao's villa.

Looking at Wei Zhao's grand villa, Yu Xiaoke furrowed her brows and muttered, "A villa this big—how much must it have cost? They could have given all that money to the orphanage!"

Yu Xiaoke's voice was soft, but Yu Dake was a cultivator, and there was no one else in the car, so of course he heard every word, and could only smile bitterly again and again! He had learned the night before, chatting with Yu Xiaoke, just how much money the orphanage now had—so much that it could never possibly be spent. Yet Yu Xiaoke was still eyeing other people's villas, which left Yu Dake utterly speechless!

Still, Yu Xiaoke was only grumbling. That was simply the kind of person she was: she would split every penny in two before spending it on herself, yet she threw her whole heart into the orphanage.

"Xiaoke, get out of the car with me and wait for Mr. Lin," Yu Dake said to her after parking the car.

"He's such a big shot that we have to go greet him?" Yu Xiaoke said, though she got out of the car all the same. After all, Wei Zhao had donated so much money to the orphanage—however much she disliked him, she still had to make a show of it, didn't she?

Hearing the car in the courtyard, Wei Zhao came out of the villa and saw Yu Dake beaming and Yu Xiaoke glowering, and found it rather amusing—Yu Xiaoke still treated him like a class enemy!

"Let's take my car! Yours is a bit small," Wei Zhao said, pointing to the Grand Cherokee on the other side of the courtyard.
