Chapter 4074 — Friends from the Secular World

"Little Junior Brother, this cave dwelling of yours is too cramped. Let's go refine the pills at Hualan Residence, my family's place—it's much more spacious, and no one will come to disturb us there," Shangguan Lan'er suggested.
"That works too," Wei Zhao nodded. As far as the surroundings went, Hualan Residence was, after all, the premier estate of the Chongtian Pavilion, and it was indeed more secure than his own cave dwelling.
Hoisting the great basketful of spirit herbs onto their shoulders, the three of them made their way to Hualan Residence and went straight to the training chamber reserved for Shangguan Lan'er's cultivation, where they set about preparing to refine the pills.
The moment Wei Zhao brought out the Shennong Cauldron, Ning Xuefei's eyes lit up, and she exclaimed in astonishment, "Wei Zhao, this pill furnace of yours looks awfully different from everyone else's!"
Though no alchemist herself, she had seen others refine pills before. Yet never had she seen such a bizarre component as a tablet computer attached to anyone's pill furnace—though, of course, she had no idea that the thing was called a tablet computer.
Wei Zhao smiled and said, "The Shennong Cauldron can refine pills automatically. It's the one and only of its kind under heaven—you won't find another anywhere else."
He searched out the pill formula for the Foundation-Building Golden Pill and placed the spirit herbs inside, whereupon the tablet computer displayed: "Please wait—Jingjing is calculating the refining time and temperature curve for Brother Wei Zhao, and will automatically generate the pill-refining script..."
"Wow! That's amazing!" Ning Xuefei's eyes had turned into little stars. Her admiration for her dear friend Han Jingyi flowed on and on like a ceaseless river, and her confidence in the automatic artifact-forging mechanism that Han Jingyi was currently developing redoubled.
Yet Shangguan Lan'er, standing to one side, asked in surprise, "Little Junior Brother, who is Jingjing? Is that the name of your pill furnace?"
"No, she's my girlfriend from the secular world," Wei Zhao said with a gentle smile. It was not only Han Jingyi—every woman who mattered in his life filled him with a warmth and longing that rose from the bottom of his heart.
"Oh... so you have a girlfriend, Little Junior Brother. You never told me that before!" Shangguan Lan'er's eyes flickered, and then she asked, "Is she still in the secular world now?"
But Wei Zhao shook his head and sighed. "No. She came to Cloud Terrace Island as well, but she wasn't teleported to North Island. I don't know which island or which sect she's in now."
Ever since he had unexpectedly encountered Tianchan on the Far North Island, Wei Zhao had been worrying over this very question. A man in the jianghu has no say over his own fate—even Tianchan had run into such grave trouble, and given Han Jingyi's strength, she would likely find it even harder than Tianchan to adapt to the complex environment of Cloud Terrace Island. He had no idea how she was faring now.
"Huh? Then doesn't that mean Feifei here is just the one to help? She's a veritable little princess of West Island! She may not know other places, but if your girlfriend happens to be on West Island, she's sure to find her. Isn't that right, Feifei?" Shangguan Lan'er said, laying out a plan.
At those words, hope surged in Wei Zhao's heart, and he turned to look at Ning Xuefei expectantly. Han Jingyi was a woman, and judging by the fact that the vast majority of female cultivators on Cloud Terrace Island were concentrated on West Island, the odds that she had been teleported there were at least sixty percent.
"Sure! I'll ask around as soon as I get back," Ning Xuefei agreed vaguely, without directly disclosing Han Jingyi's current situation. She was set on giving the two of them a grand surprise when the time came.
