Chapter 258 — The Mysterious Man in Black
Years of Heartflutter Page 3 of 3
The guards in the security room saw the man in black enter the building on their monitors, but since the man had been let in by the guard at the entrance, they thought nothing of it. They only found it slightly odd that he was walking toward the security room.
The security room door was pushed open, and the black muzzles of handguns were leveled at the guards on duty inside. Before they could make sense of what was happening, each of them had gained a bloody hole in the center of his brow.
After killing the guards in the security room, the man in black put his handgun back into his satchel and swiftly removed the hard drives from several of the surveillance machines, his movements as practiced as a professional thief's.
With the hard drives in his satchel, the man in black left the security room, gently closed its door behind him, and swaggered into the elevator and up to the thirty-sixth floor.
An elevator is, of course, far faster than the stairs. Once out of the elevator, the man in black went straight toward the chairman's office.
The door to Sui Yuejin's office was not locked but standing open. Sui Yuejin lay slumped against the old sofa, one hand pressed to his chest, while his secretary, Little Yu, stood anxiously to one side.
The man in black stepped across the threshold of the office, drew his handgun, and fired two sharp shots; the same two bloody holes appeared in the heads of Sui Yuejin and Little Yu.
The man in black was evidently quite confident in his marksmanship. After firing, he did not bother to check whether his targets were dead; he holstered his gun, and without so much as a glance at the two corpses in the room, he quickly removed a listening device from the chandelier in Sui Yuejin's office and placed it in his satchel. Then, without looking back, he left the office. The whole sequence was executed in one continuous motion, without the slightest hesitation or pause. He took the elevator down and walked toward the reception room at the building's main entrance. "Got what you came for? I will open the door for you!" Seeing the man in black come downstairs, the guard cheerfully picked up the key board beside him. "Bang." A dull report, and the guard stared in disbelief at the man before him, in whose hand a black handgun had appeared without his ever noticing when.
He died with his eyes wide open.
