Chapter 323 — The Hidden Boss Again

At last he had a chance to go on the offensive against the boss behind the scenes, and Yang Ce was naturally elated. He had hated the feeling of being led around by the nose; he did not like it, and now that he could lead the boss around by the nose instead, of course he meant to waste no time.

Off the Jingsong Expressway, at the toll exit, a traffic officer on duty glanced at Yang Ce's car but did not stop it, waving him straight through. The footage from the highway had probably been relayed ahead, but this was Jingshan territory, and Yang Ce's car carried a Class A pass signed by Captain Yang—the highest level of official pass. Jingshan's police all recognized it and naturally would not pull him over.

He tore all the way to the Jingshan police station. There too, the guard at the gate saw the pass on Yang Ce's car and let him through without a word. It was only when Yang Ce went upstairs that he was stopped.

"Who are you here to see? Register over here." The officer on duty in the guardroom of the office building called out to Yang Ce.

"I'm looking for Captain Yang of the Criminal Investigation Unit," Yang Ce said.

"Oh? What's this about? Did you arrange it in advance?" the officer asked.

"Not yet. I'll call him now." Yang Ce quickly pulled out his phone to make the call, but the duty officer stopped him.

"No need. I have an internal line here. What's your name? I'll ask for you," the duty officer said.

"Just tell him my name is Yang Ce. He'll know." Yang Ce nodded. "Thank you for the trouble."
