Chapter 352 — The Arts Festival Opens
Years of Heartflutter Page 3 of 3
Yang Ce and those campus beauties were too ethereal—for the average student, they were elusive dragons, hard to even catch a glimpse of normally. These two hosts on stage were closer to their everyday lives.
"Respected leaders, teachers, and fellow students, good evening, everyone," said the male host with a bow. "I am your host Lai Mingxu."
Lai Mingxu's words drew bursts of screams from the audience again. Clearly, this Lai Mingxu was something of a celebrity at the university too.
"I am your host Ning Chen," the female host said, following the male host in a bow. "May we all share an unforgettable and joyful evening together."
"The twenty-eighth Campus Art Festival Gala of Songjiang Engineering University now begins!" Lai Mingxu and Ning Chen announced together in loud voices.
Warm applause erupted from the audience once more. The evening's performances officially began. First up was a group dance brought by the school's dance club—a folk dance, of course. To today's young people, this kind of dance held little appeal, but it suited the school leaders just fine. The leaders and guests in the front row all nodded, praising it as a good opening.
Still, it didn't matter if the young people couldn't appreciate the dance—they could appreciate the beauties. Every girl in the dance club had a first-rate figure and looks to match, and so the wolves in the audience began to stare.
Standing backstage, Xu Qianxing was fairly satisfied with this opening. It could please the leaders and keep the students from getting bored—and that had honestly cost him no small amount of thought.
When screening the acts, Xu Qianxing hadn't dared cut all the orthodox songs and dances. After all, he still had to consider the leaders' feelings; he couldn't cater entirely to the students' tastes. But while keeping the orthodox acts, Xu Qianxing had also sought out some acts that suited modern students' appetites.
Take this dance, for instance—folk dance it might be, but judging by the lighting effects and the dancers' costumes, it radiated a kind of sensual beauty. That let the students who couldn't appreciate dance still enjoy another side of the act. (To be continued)
