"So what more is there to say? Let's go, shall we?" Boxer Li gazed at the lovely and alluring Yu Yuanyuan, his heart rippling with the urge to carry her straight onto the bed.
"Wait, you have to give me a few days to get used to it!" Although Yu Yuanyuan had already made up her mind to go with Boxer Li, in her heart she was still not ready. She needed time to prepare!
"Still need to get used to it?" Boxer Li frowned, impatience rising in his heart. "Since you've agreed, come with me! You aren't thinking of playing some trick, are you?"
"What trick could I possibly play?" Yu Yuanyuan said with self-mockery. "Now everything is in your hands. I only want to calmly accept all of this! Give me a little time, so I can go with you willingly. I think you don't want to use force either, do you?"
"That's true!" Hearing Yu Yuanyuan's words, Boxer Li felt relieved. He truly did not like using force, so after a moment's thought he agreed to her request. "If you put it that way, I'll give you three days! In three days, I'll come to take you into my house!"
Yu Yuanyuan gave a bleak smile, nodded, and said, "All right... three days it is..."
"Straightforward. In that case, Old Yu, we're family now. You can't live in this house anymore, the door is already broken. Here, this is a hundred thousand yuan. Count it as my betrothal gift. Take it, find an inn to stay in for now, and get the door replaced!" Boxer Li pulled out the hundred thousand yuan he had prepared long ago and slapped it onto the table.
Yunhai Shuku wanted to refuse. After all, this was selling his daughter for glory, something he could not accept in his heart. But Yu Yuanyuan took the money and pressed it into Yunhai Shuku's hands, saying, "Dad, take it..."
Yu Yuanyuan had given up hope. She only wanted to make her own worth count for as much as possible, and being able to give her family some extra money now made her feel a little better...
Seeing the great deed accomplished, Boxer Li and Little Mule did not linger, turning straight around and walking out of Yunhai Shuku's home, leaving only father and daughter exchanging a glance and sighing together, blaming only the unfairness of fate and the bitterness of it all.
In Xixing Village, Ergoudan finished the farm work at home, told his father, and hurriedly ran up Mount Xixing!
Mount Xixing was steep and treacherous, with many fierce beasts roaming above, so even residents of nearby mountain villages who went up to hunt only moved about near the foot and dared not push deep into the mountains.
In Xixing Village, only three people dared to go deep into the mountains. One was the village's old traditional doctor, Old Man Wei, another was the little medicine boy beside Old Man Wei, Wei Zhao, and the third was Wei Zhao's little follower, Ergoudan Zhou Qiming.
Halfway up the back of Mount Xixing there was a nameless spring. At this moment Ergoudan stood beside that nameless spiritual spring, scooping up a handful of spring water with his hands and sending it into his mouth! Although Ergoudan wanted to drink his fill, years of experiments had taught him that drinking more or less of this water made little difference. It could only sustain him for a time, and after long its effect wore off.
Ergoudan had once thought of filling a bottle with some water to carry on him, but once the spring water left the nameless spiritual spring it lost all effect! This left Ergoudan helpless, yet there was nothing he could do. Who told him to be so naughty as a child as to steal a drink of the medicinal liquid Old Man Wei had prepared?
It was said that his body had been struck by a kind of gu poison that had to draw energy from this nameless spiritual spring. If he went too long without replenishing the spring water, the gu poison would begin to absorb the energy inside Ergoudan's body, until Ergoudan himself would be swallowed whole by the gu.
That was also the reason Ergoudan could not go out casually.
