Chapter 1406 — Aiding in an Emergency

The Blossom Guardian · Page 2 of 2

"Boy, who are you?" Seeing that the newcomer was not Wei Zhao but another young man, Zhao Fafa was momentarily taken aback. "Tang Zhi, have you swapped boyfriends?"

"Are you an idiot? I called her sister-in-law — isn't it obvious who I am?" Wu Chengtian laughed aloud, eyeing Zhao Fafa as though he were a fool. "You're that *** young master, aren't you? I'll give you one chance — apologize to my sister-in-law Tang Zhi right now, or the consequences will be very serious!"

Zhao Fafa's face flushed. He had not caught Wu Chengtian's words clearly earlier and had mistaken him for Tang Zhi's new boyfriend; but he was thick-skinned and said nothing more of it: "What kind of creature are you? 'Consequences will be very serious'? You're bluffing, aren't you?"

"Hmph!" Wu Chengtian gave a cold snort. Turning his head, he spotted a bronze wall lamp beside the Tang family's door. He reached out and yanked, and the lamp came away in his hand; then, with an offhand squeeze, the bronze base of the lamp was crushed out of shape. "See that? If I give your head a squeeze like this, it'll burst!"

"An early-stage Yellow-rank external expert?" Uncle Zhu's expression turned grave. He had not expected this newcomer to be a cultivator as well — only an early Yellow-rank external practitioner, yet no simple matter either! Were there really such capable hands left in the mundane world?

"The old thing has some eye for quality. That being so, why don't the two of you get lost?" Wu Chengtian said smugly.

Tang Zhi was speechless. Had Wu Chengtian come to save the day or to wreck the place? Uncle Zhu had smashed a coffee table, and Wu Chengtian had torn the wall lamp clean off the wall! But since Wu Chengtian meant well — it was to overawe the visitors — she really had no grounds to say anything.

"Ignorant brat, do you think being an early Yellow-rank expert makes you formidable? You have only just stepped over the threshold of a cultivator — truly, you overreach yourself!" On hearing Wu Chengtian's words, Uncle Zhu's face immediately took on a look of derision. "I was once a Mystic-rank expert, at the peak of early Mystic-rank. It is only because I am injured that my strength has fallen to Yellow-rank. Even so, you are no match for me!"

"Mystic-rank? You, a Mystic-rank? You're blowing your own horn, aren't you?" Hearing Uncle Zhu's words, Wu Chengtian burst out laughing. "In that case, let me test just how strong you are!"

With that, Wu Chengtian threw a punch straight at Uncle Zhu. He had always excelled with his hands; his pair of iron palms were extraordinarily hard, and his fists were like steel!

Uncle Zhu had never expected Wu Chengtian to lash out so abruptly, with not the slightest warning before the fists came flying! Uncle Zhu still had several sentences left unsaid; he had wanted to sound out Wu Chengtian's identity and origins, to see what sort of background the boy had — but before he could even ask, the other man had already begun to fight.

This left Uncle Zhu deeply aggrieved. He wanted to dodge, but it was already too late. He had been off his guard to begin with, and he had not stirred his body for a long while besides; only just recovered from grave injuries, he was somewhat stiff, and with a "bang," Wu Chengtian struck him square in the chest. Uncle Zhu took the blow solidly and was driven back several steps, then, with a "pfft," spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.
