Chapter 1611 — Heart-to-Heart

The Blossom Guardian · Page 1 of 2

"Right, Boss, it seems Kang Jingming hasn't quite given up over there. A few times I've seen him trying to win people over in our procurement and quality inspection departments. It looks like he's got his eye on our analgesic formula too," Kang Xiaofeng said. "Neither procurement nor QC has the detailed formula, but I'm still afraid they might leak something and let him work something out."

"Don't worry about him," Wei Zhao said coolly. "The most critical core technologies of the analgesic are in your hands and Fatty Lai's — that's all that matters. As for the rest, let him study whatever he wants. Just hope he doesn't blow himself up!"

"What?" Kang Xiaofeng blinked.

"When we placed those procurement orders, didn't I tell you to include some other drugs alongside them?" Wei Zhao asked.

"You did. After purchasing, we just stored them in the warehouse without using them." Kang Xiaofeng nodded. "Could it be...?"

"If he combines those drugs and tries to refine them together, they'll explode," Wei Zhao said with a smile.

"Uh... Boss, surely not? You really did plan this!" Kang Xiaofeng had been thinking of warning his subordinates to watch their tongues around Kang Jingming, or perhaps simply firing the ones who had contact with him.

But after hearing Wei Zhao's words, Kang Xiaofeng was struck with deep admiration. "So you had the foresight all along, Boss!"

"It isn't really foresight — just a coincidence. Those extra medicinal herbs I had you purchase have a low annual yield. The next drug we plan to release needs them, so we acquired them in advance. But if he mixes them with those other ingredients and tries to refine them, it's prone to exploding," Wei Zhao said.

Kang Xiaofeng clicked his tongue, silently marveling at Kang Jingming's spectacular bad luck. The ingredients he had presumably gone to such great lengths to dig up would likely blow up in his face the moment he tried to refine them.

"Should we deliberately leak the information to him?" Kang Xiaofeng asked after a moment's hesitation.

"Heh... if he sends you money, hand over the purchase order," Wei Zhao said with a laugh. "Just like last time!"

"Ha, deal!" Kang Xiaofeng was delighted to have Wei Zhao's blessing. Not only could he extort a tidy sum of cash, but he could also set Kang Jingming up for a spectacular fall — what was not to like?

In the other room, Gu Mengyao and Shen Yushu had finished their baths and were lying in bed, whispering to each other.

"Xiaoshu, what did it feel like, kissing Wei Zhao today?" Gu Mengyao had been itching to ask ever since it happened, but with Wei Zhao sitting right there, she hadn't dared.

"Hehe, Yao Yao jie, why don't you try it yourself and find out?" Shen Yushu said.

"I... try what? If I wanted to try, I would have done it just now." Gu Mengyao's cheeks flushed. "The very reason I'm asking you is because I'm not going to."

"Oh, actually, you were the first person to kiss Arrow Brother, Yao Yao jie — have you forgotten? You two kissed indirectly!" Shen Yushu said.

Gu Mengyao's face darkened as she recalled that farcical episode of the indirect kiss. Back then, all she had felt toward Wei Zhao was disgust and repulsion, which was why she had reacted so violently. But looking back on it now, it really wasn't such a big deal...

Wei Zhao hadn't even minded being drenched in her urine — so what was she being so squeamish about regarding his saliva? But the mere thought of that incident made Gu Mengyao blush even harder! It was, without question, the single most mortifying experience of her entire life!

"How does that one count?" Gu Mengyao coughed. "Forget it — if you won't talk about it, never mind."

"Oh, Yao Yao jie, don't get mad, I'll tell you..." Shen Yushu gazed at Gu Mengyao, whose cheeks had turned a deep crimson. "Wow, Yao Yao jie, you're blushing!"

"What nonsense! It's just hot in here!" Gu Mengyao retorted. "Are you going to tell me or not? If not, forget it."
