"That's right." The Earth Tyrant nodded. "It works better than the earth-attribute essence liquid and anything you'd find on a heaven-tier earth-attribute spirit beast—and there's no danger in it..."
"Then, once someone becomes an inheritor, are there any requirements? For instance, is there something they have to do?" Wei Zhao nodded and pressed on.
"Leader Wei Zhao... you know about that plan too?" The Earth Tyrant was rather startled, and dropped his voice low. In his view, Wei Zhao could not possibly have access to secrets at that level. Even if Wei Zhao was the leader of the direct heirs of several ancient sects, none of those sects was one of the leading participants in that plan—not the Divine Fist Hall, and not the ancient Feng family either. They knew only of the future "Cloud-Tier Island" plan, but they absolutely did not know what all these inheritors were for, nor what these inheritors would be sent to do.
"Yes. My concubine is named Feng Xiaoxiao. She is the vice palace master of the Ice Palace, and one of the inheritors as well." Wei Zhao nodded. "So it's hardly surprising that I know these things."
"What? Leader Wei Zhao's... concubine?" The Earth Tyrant was dumbstruck. Had he been told that Wei Zhao's wife was the vice palace master of the Ice Palace, he would have found it hard to believe; that she was a concubine was even more inconceivable to him!
After all, the Ice Palace was one of the foremost powers among the ancient sects. The Mystic Pill Sect had once wanted to move against it, yet had not dared to act. And the vice palace master of a sect that even the Tomorrow Upon Tomorrow sect did not dare offend was actually Wei Zhao's concubine?
But on second thought, it made sense enough. Had the Tomorrow Upon Tomorrow sect dared to do anything to Wei Zhao? And had not Tian Canbian, the young sect master of the Mystic Pill Sect, said himself that he was not confident of dealing with Wei Zhao?
Seen that way, it all fell neatly into place—and the Earth Tyrant felt there was no need at all for Wei Zhao to deceive him. Once his astonishment passed, he said with admiration, "A leader is a leader indeed—not on the same level as young sect masters like us. You're already on terms of equals with the sect masters and palace masters of the ancient sects."
"First tell me this: what does an earth-attribute inheritor have to do later on, and is it dangerous?" Wei Zhao ignored the Earth Tyrant's flattery and asked instead.
"That... don't you know, leader? It's the same as what the ice-attribute inheritor has to do..." The Earth Tyrant looked at Wei Zhao with some puzzlement. How could he not know?
"Do you think that if it were dangerous, she would tell me and make me worry?" Wei Zhao countered.
"That... well, I suppose so!" The Earth Tyrant knew nothing of Wei Zhao's past, and assumed that Feng Xiaoxiao had first become vice palace master of the Ice Palace and an inheritor, and only afterwards met Wei Zhao and become his concubine. That being so, it all made sense—fearing to worry Wei Zhao, she would naturally not tell him the details. Yet the Earth Tyrant still had a doubt: "Then why didn't she keep it from you that she was an inheritor? Wouldn't that have saved you the curiosity, leader?"
"Inheritors cannot lose their virginity. Do you think she ought to tell me that or not?" Wei Zhao muddied the waters and played for time again; naturally the Earth Tyrant could see no flaw in it.

Since Feng Xiaoxiao was Wei Zhao's woman but would not let Wei Zhao have his way with her, she would certainly have to explain why! So the Earth Tyrant nodded, though he still ventured, "It's like this—surely you know of that place too, Leader Wei Zhao?"
"The Five Luminaries Sect?" Wei Zhao asked in return.
