"Yes, so protecting Xiao Jiu is the same as protecting her—you can protect them together! I imagine your master had some such deeper meaning in mind when he made this arrangement," Shen Yutang said with a smile.
In the past, had Wei Zhao heard such a claim, he would surely have taken it for mere coincidence. But now, there were too many coincidences surrounding the people and events in his life; Wei Zhao simply could not believe this was a coincidence anymore. Perhaps all of this had been foreseen by someone long ago?
"Master's Wife Shen, may I ask who this Inheritor is?" Wei Zhao knew he was somewhat asking the obvious, but he was not entirely certain.
"This Inheritor is called Guan Xin. Her father was a good friend of your master's back in the day, and her grandfather and your grandfather Lin Dongfang had some connection as well..." Shen Yutang explained.
Hearing this, Wei Zhao had not a doubt left! Guan Xin—it really was Guan Xin! As relief washed over him, he also found it rather amusing. If Guan Xin knew that her blind date was none other than himself, what sort of expression would she wear?
Suddenly a wicked delight rose in Wei Zhao. If he did not tell Guan Xin beforehand and instead gave her a surprise on the day itself, would that not be great fun?
At that thought, Wei Zhao said, "Master's Wife Shen, does the other family know what my name is?"
"That, no. You've had many names, and I'm not sure which one you're using now," Shen Yutang said. "Why, do you have something in mind?"
"It's like this—I already know Guan Xin. So I'd like to give her a surprise. Please don't tell her for now, Master's Wife. On the day we meet, I'll make my appearance..." Wei Zhao had been terribly bored and dull lately, so a matter like this stirred an interest befitting his age.
