Chapter 631 — Choosing the Dare Would Be a Tragedy

The Blossom Guardian

"Ahem, uh, Brother Yutian, I think there might be a bit of a problem with Little Shu's way of thinking!" An Liwen was so frightened his heart nearly exploded. This would not do! A wife and a concubine might be every man's dream, but it all depended on what kind of wife and concubine they were. If he actually married Shen Yushu and brought her home alongside the other, wouldn't his life be sheer hell? Would he even survive?

"She's just a kid—they all like to fool around." Chen Yuxuan did not think much of it. He assumed his little sister was joking; after all, the whole thing sounded absurd, and his sister's ideas had always been a cut above the ordinary. It was entirely possible she had said it on purpose just to tease An Liwen.

"This doesn't look like fooling around to me!" An Liwen said earnestly. "Brother Yutian, you need to guide your sister properly. This is a new era—how can there still be wives and concubines? It just won't do. You have to teach her a good lesson!"

But before Chen Yuxuan could respond, Shen Yushu spoke first. "This is between me and Sister Yaoyao. What business is it of yours?"

"Gah!" An Liwen was instantly choked speechless. She was right—this was their business. Wasn't he just sticking his nose in where it didn't belong? If he had confessed to Gu Mengyao and she had accepted him, then it would be his business. But he hadn't confessed yet, had he?

"All right, it's Sister Yaoyao's turn to ask a question now!" Shen Yushu shot An Liwen an impatient glare. "Sister Yaoyao, your turn to ask!"

"Me? I..." Gu Mengyao had no idea what to ask. She thought it over, still came up blank, and finally said, "How about I give this right to Little Shu?"

"That works too—let's give it to Little Shu, then!" An Liwen was desperate to make his confession, so how could he possibly object to Gu Mengyao's suggestion?

"Yay, yay, I love asking questions!" Shen Yushu rubbed her hands together eagerly and looked at Su Taizao with a grin. "Taizao哥哥, I'm going to ask my question now?"

"Yeah, go ahead!" Su Taizao nodded too. He was just as anxious to pose a question that would let An Liwen make his confession, so he was in a hurry as well.

"Taizao哥哥, how old were you when you stopped wetting the bed?" Shen Yushu asked.

"Gah?" Su Taizao's eyes went wide. He had not expected Shen Yushu to ask something like that! The question was a little funny, but it struck right at the bone—because Su Taizao had a secret: he had wet the bed since he was little! Few people knew, but those close to him had some inkling; they just never brought it up to his face, for the sake of his dignity.

Back in kindergarten, Su Taizao had once peed all over the child sleeping in the bunk below him! Ever since then, he had never again lived in a school dormitory or any place like it. Even now, he dared not drink too much water at night, because he was afraid of wetting the bed!

This secret was a wound that would never heal. Now that Shen Yushu had suddenly brought it up, Su Taizao found it rather hard to answer! Truth or Dare meant you absolutely had to tell the truth—of course, you could also lie, as long as no one caught you at it!

But Su Taizao did not dare lie. The matter was secret, but people did know, and he even suspected Shen Yushu had asked on purpose precisely because she knew. So the moment he lied, Shen Yushu would call him out, and that would be even more humiliating.

Su Taizao was seething with resentment, yet there was nothing he could do, for the reason was simple: this was just how Shen Yushu was. An Liwen had just been tormented to no end by her—so what was he?

Su Taizao was too embarrassed to tell the plain truth. Surely he could not say that he still wet the bed to this day? How humiliating that would be! But if he did not say it, his only choices were a dare or a penalty drink!

Su Taizao had already drunk quite a lot. Another drink and he would feel awful, so after thinking it over, he decided to take the dare. "I refuse to answer—I choose the dare!"

"Oh, wonderful! Finally a dare!" Shen Yushu clapped her hands in praise.

Su Taizao became all the more certain that Shen Yushu had done it on purpose. She wanted to watch someone do a dare, so she had deliberately come up with such a nasty question.

In fact, Shen Yushu really had just asked off the top of her head. Chen Yuxuan knew a little about Su Taizao's secret, but he would never breathe a word of such things to his sister. Shen Yushu's question was a pure stroke of blind luck—a blind cat stumbling on a dead mouse.

"Taizao哥哥, I command you to drink two bottles of red wine!" Shen Yushu said after a moment's thought.

"Gah?!" Su Taizao nearly leaped out of his chair! Two bottles of red wine? What kind of joke was this? The whole reason he had not chosen the penalty drink was that he did not want to drink anymore—and now Shen Yushu was ordering him to down two bottles of red wine? Was she messing with him or what?

But he had chosen the dare, and he could not take it back! Shen Yushu's demand was not all that excessive either—it counted as a normal dare—so he had no grounds to refuse.

Su Taizao sat there dithering, and Gu Mengyao could not help but smile at the sight. Shen Yushu really was good at tormenting people—wasn't this deliberately making Su Taizao regret his choice?

"Taizao, is two bottles too few? How about four?" Shen Yushu looked at Su Taizao innocently, as if she had had nothing to do with this nasty business.

What kind of joke was this? Four bottles? Su Taizao finally felt a measure of relief. Shen Yushu had only made him drink two bottles; had it been four, he would have drunk himself to death on the spot.

"All right, hurry up and drink, then we'll continue!" An Liwen's mind was entirely on the confession he would make in a little while, so he did not much care whether Su Taizao drank or not; he only wanted the game to hurry on.

Since An Liwen had spoken too, Su Taizao had no choice but to grit his teeth and down two bottles of red wine, then said, "All right, let's continue. It's my turn to ask! An, what I want to ask you is: do you have someone you've set your heart on?"

"Of course I do!" Hearing that Su Taizao had finally come to the crucial point, An Liwen began to speak with great relish, his words pouring out in a torrent: "The one I've set my heart on is my childhood sweetheart—Yaoyao! When I was little, I secretly adored her in silence, hoping that when we grew up, she would become my girlfriend, and then I would marry her and have children..."

"Oh, and do you want to be with Sister Yaoyao?" Shen Yushu suddenly cut in to ask.

"I do!" An Liwen blurted out without thinking, but after he said it, he felt something was off: "Gah?"

This was truly what was in An Liwen's heart; though this was indeed what he thought, he could not say it aloud! It was only that today he had drunk, and had been speaking with such relish that he had grown a little carried away, and so he had fallen into Shen Yushu's trap.
