Gou Huli glanced at the Beetle. She was a little surprised, but did not think much of it. "Your master is quite rich, isn't he? Buying a car like that for you slaves and servants — not bad at all! Is it for you to go out and buy groceries?"
Gu Mengyao glared at Gou Huli and said nothing more. There was no use saying anything now; everything would wait until the clothes were bought.
Gu Mengyao and Shen Yushu got into the Beetle, and Wei Zhao drove out of the villa compound, following Gou Huli's Porsche Boxster all the way toward the commercial district.
It was the weekend, so the commercial district was already packed with cars, and there had long since been no spaces left outside Pengzhan Commercial Building. Gou Huli had a membership card, however, so she got out of her car with great swagger, waved the diamond card in her hand, and boasted to Wei Zhao in the Beetle behind her, "I am a member here, so I can park in the members-only underground parking garage — there is always a space free. You can find somewhere to park yourselves, but be careful you do not get a ticket slapped on you!"
With that, Gou Huli got back into her car and drove toward Pengzhan Commercial Building's underground garage.
Wei Zhao did not go looking for a parking space, however. He simply followed Gou Huli all the way down into the underground garage.
Gou Huli sneered to herself. Follow me, then. My diamond card does carry the privilege of parking one car alongside mine, but I simply will not let you use it. Just wait and see how pathetic you look when the security guards chase you out — I hope you die of embarrassment!
"Ma'am, might you be a VIP guest of Pengzhan Trading?" When Gou Huli pulled her car up to the barrier of the underground garage, a security guard came over and asked respectfully.
"Of course!" Gou Huli flung out her membership card. "I am a diamond-tier member!"
"Welcome, esteemed diamond guest, Ms. Gou..." The guard took Gou Huli's diamond membership card and swiped it through the machine beside him, which immediately displayed her information. Diamond guests were a rare sight, and so the guard treated her with exceptional deference.
Diamond guests were invariably people of wealth and influence, and from the look of Gou Huli alone, she was clearly not someone to be trifled with, so the guard was all the more cautious.
"Excuse me, is that car behind you part of your party, Ms. Gou?" The guard glanced at the Beetle behind Gou Huli's car. "As a diamond member, you may bring one additional vehicle into the parking lot free of charge. That is your privilege!"
"No, it has nothing to do with me!" Gou Huli took back her membership card and said it deliberately loud enough for Wei Zhao and the others to hear. She meant to humiliate them, to make these low-class servants understand the difference between themselves and people like her, wealthy people, upper-class people!
"Very well, please proceed." The guard nodded and raised the barrier, inviting Gou Huli's car to drive into the underground VIP parking lot of the Pengzhan Commercial Building.
But after her car passed the barrier and entered the parking lot, Gou Huli did not drive on at once to look for a space. Instead she pulled over to the side and waited to see Wei Zhao and the others make fools of themselves. She wanted to watch how the guards would drive them out of the parking lot!
Only high-class guests like us are allowed to park here. How could low-class cleaners and gardeners like you deserve to park your cars alongside a person of high society like me?
