Chapter 141 — Old Buffon's Origins

Years of Heartflutter Page 47 of 106

"Lao San, see them out." Sun Lin choked down the urge to curse them roundly. He waved a hand and spoke coldly.

"Wait." Yang Ce could hold back no longer. He abruptly reached out to stop Sun San, then rose to his feet and walked straight toward Ouyang Junyuan.

"Damn you, what do you think you're doing?" Ouyang Junyuan eyed Yang Ce sidelong, not taking him seriously in the least.

"You come to my door and want to take my wife off to P Province—you're taking me far too lightly." Yang Ce looked at Ouyang Junyuan and smiled coldly.

"Who the hell do you think you are? Is it your turn to speak here?" Wang Cheng'en feared Sun Lin somewhat, but he did not fear Yang Ce. In his view Yang Ce had no real ability—he was merely trying to latch onto the Sun family's power and influence.

And he had seen Yang Ce's performance that afternoon with his own eyes. If Yang Ce were truly somebody, Snake Bro would surely have told him.

How could he know that Snake Bro simply wanted nothing more to do with the matter? And it was not that he would not tell—it was that Yang Ce was far too terrifying. He dared not tell.

To be continued.

657. A Forceful Intervention

"Get out of the way, this is none of your business." Yang Ce lifted his leg and kicked Wang Cheng'en. Wang Cheng'en, who had been sitting on the sofa, felt a tremendous force slam into his chest.

Yang Ce held nothing back. There was a crack—likely Wang Cheng'en's ribs had broken—but Yang Ce did not stop there. He poured on more force, and Wang Cheng'en, together with the sofa behind him, toppled straight backward. Ouyang Junyuan, sitting on the same sofa, was dragged down with him, and the two of them sprawled flat on the floor.

Wang Cheng'en was badly hurt and could do nothing now but groan. Yang Ce had long found this fellow an eyesore. If not for the fact that they were at the Six Flavors Restaurant today, a public place, Yang Ce would have wanted to thrash him on the spot.

The sudden turn of events left everyone in the room stunned. Ouyang Junyuan was beside himself with rage. He jabbed a finger at Yang Ce and shouted, "You dare lay hands on me? Don't you know who I am? I'm telling you, kid, you're finished—unless you hand Sun Jie over to me and then crawl through my legs, I'll see your whole family wiped out!"

"Say that again." Yang Ce shot out his hand, seized Ouyang Junyuan by the collar, and hauled him up into the air. "I have two taboos," he said viciously. "One is my woman. The other is my family. Unfortunately, you've chosen to threaten me with both."

"I am the Second Young Master of the Ouyang family—you're dead!" Ouyang Junyuan was shocked and furious as he stared at Yang Ce, whose eyes had gone red. He had not expected Yang Ce to possess such strength—to lift him off the ground with one hand.

"Is that so? The Ouyang family? Very impressive, are they?" Yang Ce's tone dripped with contempt. "I don't mind telling you—this Ouyang family you think so mighty, that can summon wind and call down rain, is nothing in my eyes. Not worth a hair."

"Master!" Sun San had quickly recovered from the momentary shock of the upheaval and hurried to Sun Lin. "Mr. Yang, he—"

"Leave him be." Sun Lin shook his head. Though he too thought Yang Ce had been far too impulsive, Sun Lin was, after all, a man of some standing, and bowing his head to others was the last thing he would ever do. Besides, the bridge had already been burned; bowing now would gain little and would only hand the other side a hold over him, letting them extort outrageous terms.

"You—" Ouyang Junyuan was both alarmed and enraged, unable to tell whether Yang Ce's head was addled, to dare oppose the Ouyang family, or whether he truly had something to rely on.

But Ouyang Junyuan, who had always had the wind at his back, did not believe Yang Ce could be all that formidable. In his view, no one was mightier than his own family. And besides, his family had a secret weapon—an international assassin organization. Whoever dared defy them would be quietly done away with, and no one the wiser.

"Save the leg-crawling for your mother," Yang Ce said blandly. "Take your dogs and crawl back to your own territory. Don't let me see you here again. And don't even think about revenge—if you do anything that displeases me, what awaits the Ouyang family will be disaster."

Yang Ce was not speaking idly. If truly provoked, he would go straight to P Province and kill every last one of the Ouyang family. If he could not kill them all at once, he would hunt them down one by one. Yang Ce did not believe the whole family could stay shut indoors forever.

Facing a whole group alone—that Yang Ce would not claim. But single assassinations, one at a time—Yang Ce was confident he would be invincible.

"A man should leave himself some room," Ouyang Junyuan said, looking at Yang Ce with a swaggering tone. "You will pay the price for what you said today."

Had the fellow shown a bit of a better attitude, Yang Ce might have let him go. But his tone now betrayed not the slightest remorse, and Yang Ce was displeased. "I've changed my mind. If you want to leave, you'll leave me a little souvenir."

With that, heedless of Ouyang Junyuan's reaction, Yang Ce casually snatched up the fruit knife from the tea table used for peeling apples and slashed it hard across Ouyang Junyuan's right thumb.

The knife rose and the finger fell; red blood sprayed out, splattering the floor. Ouyang Junyuan stared dumbly at his right hand, now short a finger, and only after a long moment let out a pig-slaughtering howl.

Yang Ce did not even glance at Ouyang Junyuan. He casually tapped a point on his body, and the howling stopped dead. Yang Ce released his grip on Ouyang Junyuan's collar, and Ouyang Junyuan slumped straight to the floor.

"Too noisy," Yang Ce said offhandedly. Ouyang Junyuan's eyes bulged wide, the muscles of his face twitching, yet not a sound would come from his throat.

"Three counts. If you're not gone by then, I'll cut off your little pecker." Yang Ce began to count. "One. Two."

Ouyang Junyuan was scared witless. Damn it, this fellow is a lunatic! This time Ouyang Junyuan was truly afraid. How could Yang Ce just start swinging like that? The Ouyang family name, which he had always been so proud of, had suddenly stopped working. Seeing the cold, dark look in Yang Ce's eyes, his heart began to pound. If he was a moment too slow, this fellow really might cut off his little pecker.

He wanted to beg Yang Ce to count more slowly—whoever counted that fast? But no sound would come from his throat. Heaven knew what this fellow had done to him.

When Ouyang Junyuan heard Yang Ce's "Two," he scrambled frantically toward the door. Halfway there, he remembered his severed finger and wanted to turn back for it—medical science was so advanced now, it could surely be reattached.

As though reading his mind, Yang Ce said, "Three."

Now Ouyang Junyuan dared not go back. He took to his heels, faster than a rabbit. "Lao San, find someone to clean this up," Sun Lin said with a sigh. "See if that fellow is still breathing. If he is, throw him out. If not, dump him in the sea to feed the fish."

"Yes, Master," Sun San answered.

"Yang Ce, come up to the study with me for a moment." Sun Lin glanced at Yang Puqi, then spoke.

"Yes, Uncle Sun." Yang Yu nodded.

Sun Lin's mood was tangled and complicated. The consequences of Yang Juehuan's actions would be dire. Though in his heart he agreed with what Yang Juehuan had done, Ouyang Junyuan was, after all, the second young master of the Ouyang family. Yang Ce had handled the matter with such ruthless disregard that it left Sun Lin somewhat in a difficult position.

At the same time, what astonished Sun Lin was that Yang Ce had been so vicious as to kick Wang Cheng'en half to death, and when he chopped off Ouyang Junyuan's fingers, he had done it without a flicker of hesitation—clean and swift.
