Chapter 147 — The Long-Awaited...

Yang Ce could actually help. With his X-ray vision, a hundred Yu Deyis would be no match for him. The trick was how to help. Coaching from the sidelines was out of the question—that would be breaking the rules.
And swapping players now was even more impossible. Who ever heard of switching men halfway through a game just because things were going badly? If word of that got out, people would laugh their teeth loose.
Yang Ce frowned. He wanted to help the Huang family through this crisis, but he had no idea how to go about it.
To be honest, Huang Yan had never cared about his family background or his abilities. Though Huang Yan didn't care about such things and had never mentioned them, Yang Ce couldn't just do nothing.
Sometimes ideals and reality are always at odds. Lele could afford not to care, but what about Lele's family? Would they allow Huang Yan to follow a man good for nothing?
So, to spare Huang Yan trouble later on, he simply had to do something for Lele's family and show them what he was made of.
Since he couldn't take the table himself right now, he might as well strike at the root: Yu Deyi had come to challenge the Huawei Casino, so he would go and challenge their Nancheng Casino.
Then they could see whether they still had the stomach to go after the Huawei Casino. The worst outcome would be a draw.
Even if the Nancheng Casino still had some master on hand, Yang Ce was not afraid.
The east wind blows, the war drums beat—with my special ability, whom should I fear?
"Want to see what a real God of Gamblers looks like?" Yang Ce suddenly turned his head and said quietly to Zhang Bin.
To be continued.

869. Striking Back at Their Turf "The God of Gamblers?" Zhang Bin was taken aback, then pointed at Yu Deyi. "You mean him?"
"He's still a long way from being a God of Gamblers," Yang Ce said. "Come on, follow me."
"Huh? Now?" Zhang Bin looked reluctantly at the game before him. He badly wanted to keep watching, but since the boss had called him, he rose briskly to his feet. "Let's go."
Zhang Bin was going, so Wang Mei would naturally follow him, and Huang Yan was taken by the hand by Yang Ce as they walked out of the VIP room together.
"Yang Ce, where are you going?" Xuanmingzong was anxiously watching the game when he saw Yang Ce and the others about to leave, and asked in some puzzlement.
"To challenge a casino," Yang Ce said mildly.
"What? Challenge a casino?" Xuanmingzong was stunned and was about to ask what was going on, but Yang Ce and the others had already left the VIP room.
Xuanmingzong shook his head. What Yang Ce and Huang Yan were up to was hardly his to control. For now he had better keep his attention on the game—though by the look of things, losing was more likely than winning, he still had to hold out to the last moment.
Zhang Bin followed Yang Ce out of the Huawei Casino in great puzzlement, and could not resist asking, "Boss, where are we going to see the God of Gamblers?"
"The God of Gamblers is naturally your boss, me," Yang Ce said. "We're going to the Nancheng Casino to challenge their turf."
"What? Boss, you're the God of Gamblers?" Zhang Bin's mouth fell open in astonishment, and he stared blankly at Yang Ce. "How is that possible, boss? Are you serious?"
"Of course I'm serious—when have I ever lied to you?" Yang Ce laughed in exasperation. "There's plenty more your boss is good at; he just doesn't show it off lightly."
"That's right—Yang Ce is amazing at Bubble Dragon!" Huang Yan cut in.
"Bubble Dragon?" Zhang Bin nearly turned to stone at the words. How could a video game and gambling be the same thing?
Wang Mei, meanwhile, had already covered her mouth to stifle a giggle. Yang Ce's face was a mask of black lines at that moment, but seeing Huang Yan's utterly earnest expression, he couldn't help but burst out laughing too.
From the look of it, Huang Yan's intent had been to praise him; it was just that Huang Yan was far too innocent, and her way of speaking rather unconventional, so that even her way of praising people came out differently. At this thought Yang Ce didn't much mind—finding a wife this extraordinary was a kind of happiness in itself, wasn't it?
"Oh, right—who knows where the Wuyacheng Casino is?" Only after leaving the Huawei Casino did Yang Ce think of a key problem: he had no idea where the Wuyacheng Casino was.
"I know," Wang Mei said at once. "I went there once before with Liu Jihao." After saying it, she glanced at Zhang Bin's expression, and only when she saw that he looked normal did she breathe a sigh of relief.
Zhang Bin was not a petty man, and he knew about Wang Mei's past, so he did not much mind.
"Let's go, then. Lead the way," Yang Yanzhou said. "Shall we take a cab?"
"No need. It's only two blocks. Getting a ride would be more trouble than it's worth," Wang Mei said.
Yang Yuting nodded, and under Wang Mei's lead they set off for the South City Casino. It was indeed not far—in less than ten minutes the four of them had arrived.
All four were young, and they had come on foot, so once they entered the lobby of the South City Casino, no one paid them any attention. But a moment later, it became impossible for Yang Ce to stay unnoticed.
"Exchange a hundred million in chips," Yang Ce said, signing a check for one hundred million yuan on the spot and tossing it onto the casino's service counter.
"Certainly, sir—" The chip clerk visibly froze. Many of the people who gambled here were rich, and plenty had lost hundreds of millions within these walls, but someone exchanging a hundred million in chips all at once was truly a rare sight.
"Sir, are you certain you want to exchange a hundred million?" The clerk took the check and glanced at the figure on it to confirm.
"Yes. And make it quick." Yang Ce was in a hurry; he wanted to turn the South City Casino upside down before Zheng Shaopeng and Yu Deyi's gambling session reached its conclusion.
"Very well." Seeing the impatience on Yang Ce's face, the clerk dared not say more. He quickly had the bank's on-duty representative stationed at the casino verify the check's authenticity and validity.
"No problem. This is a check from our bank—genuine and valid," the staff member said to the casino clerk after the inspection.
"Sir, since you're exchanging so many chips at once, you can upgrade directly to our casino's [VIP status] and have a private VIP lounge of your own. Would you like to apply for a VIP card?" The clerk, not daring to be negligent, hurried to process Yang Ce's exchange.
"No need. Just hurry up—I might only come here this once," Yang Ce said, waving his hand in refusal.
Yang Yanzhou had been right. After all, coming here to wreck someone's establishment only took once. It wasn't as if he could come every day.
"Very well." The clerk quickly handed Yang Ce the exchanged chips—the kind worth ten million apiece. Of course, if Yang Moyi needed, he could find a clerk in the casino at any time to exchange them for smaller denominations.
The clerk found nothing strange about Heng's reluctance to apply for membership. All sorts of people gambled here—even the sons of celebrities and dignitaries from various Asian countries, who naturally had no wish to leave a paper trail by joining any membership scheme.
As Yang Ce picked up the chips, a dedicated attendant came over. "Sir, would you like to go up to the VIP room on the upper floor? There's better service there."
"What, can't I play down here?" Yang Wenru frowned and gave the attendant a look.
"Of course not, sir. It's just that your chip denomination is rather large. For your safety and a better gaming experience, we recommend the upper floor," the attendant hurriedly explained.
"No need. I'll play right here," Yang Ce said with a wave of his hand.
"Very well then. Enjoy your game." Seeing Yang Ce's unfriendly tone, the attendant naturally said no more.
