Chapter 147 — The Long-Awaited...

Years of Heartflutter Page 457 of 501

"Fifth Cousin, let's get in the car. It's cold outside." Even with Yang Ce's thick skin, he could not bring himself to join in such talk in front of his mother. Besides, this Fifth Cousin was simply too coarse, and it made Yang Mo feel rather uncomfortable.

"Get in the car, get in the car. Where's the car?" Yu Chi, lugging a leather suitcase, looked around left and right.

"Over here." Yang Ce pointed at the minivan not far away.

"Holy crap, cousin, you're kidding me—this is what your family drives?" Yu Chi's face was a picture of disbelief when he saw the minivan. "My old man drives an Audi A6, and you all ride around in this beat-up van?"

Seeing his mother's expression sour, Yang Ce hastily cleared his throat twice and said to Yu Chi, "Fifth Cousin, my mom was worried you'd have a lot of luggage and a small car wouldn't hold it, so she specially brought a minivan."

"Oh, so that's how it is. Sorry about that—dog sells bird games."

"What?" Yang Puqi was baffled. "What dog sells bird games?"

"Japanese. It means 'sorry.' Don't they always say it in porn?" Yu Chi piped up in a shrill voice, imitating the actresses in those films: "Gonnasai."

Yang Puqi was filled with revulsion. This Fifth Cousin really was a piece of work. Sending a specimen like this into the city for some seasoning—wasn't that just asking for trouble? Thank goodness he had shunted him straight into Hou Lin's entertainment company; otherwise, stuck in his father's company, the old man would probably die of rage.

"Um, Fifth Cousin, let's not talk about that. Let's get in the car first—I'll show you around the company where you'll be working." Yang Ce did not want to spend another moment with this Fifth Cousin. With a person like this, there was no common ground to be found.

Mother Yang had meant to chat with Yu Chi about family matters and get acquainted, but after hearing him come out with such shocking remarks, she let the idea drop.

"So, cousin, which company did you get me into? Tell me—are there any pretty girls there?" Once in the car, Yu Chi chattered on without pause.

"The company I arranged for you belongs to a friend of mine. Fifth Cousin, once you're there, you'd better work seriously—otherwise, don't go at all." Yang Ce felt it necessary to make things clear to Yu Chi in advance.

"Hey, I know." Fifth Cousin waved a hand. "Company talk, I get it. I'm your cousin—once I'm there, I'm practically royalty. You know as well as I do that I'm only here to humor my old man. It's not like I really want to work."

"Fifth Cousin, I'm dead serious about what I'm telling you. Once you're there, you need to behave properly, not fool around like this. And that company isn't my dad's—it belongs to a friend." Yang Ce cut Fifth Cousin off and spoke with utmost seriousness.

"All right, I get it." Yu Chi said this, but inwardly he was wholly unimpressed. "By the way, cousin, what does this company you arranged for me actually do?"

"Fifth Cousin, from now on you can call me cousin or Yang Ce, or even Yang Daming if you like, but stop saying 'old cousin.' It sounds so awkward to my ears." Yang Minlan was thoroughly unaccustomed to the address "old cousin"; it sounded bizarre. "The company you're going to work for is an entertainment company."

Before Yang Juehuan could finish, Yu Chi immediately cut in: "An entertainment company! Great, an entertainment company! Is it like those Hong Kong entertainment companies with a bunch of little starlets under contract? That's perfect—I can fool around with celebrities."

Three black lines appeared on Yang Juehuan's forehead, and he cut Yu Chi off before he could go on: "Fifth Cousin, you've misunderstood. An entertainment company doesn't mean that kind of entertainment company. It runs nightclubs, hotels, and other entertainment venues."

"Oh." Yu Chi sounded slightly disappointed, but then he said, "Still, there must be plenty of girls at a company like that, right?"

"That I wouldn't know." Yang Ce gave a perfunctory reply.

"Ha, I get it. Little cousin, are you afraid Second Aunt will hear?" Yu Chi draped an arm over Yang Juehuan's shoulder and whispered, "When we've got time, your big brother here will teach you the secret to picking up girls."

"No need." Yang Yongjin did not want to get too tangled up with Yu Chi. This fifth cousin had made an absolutely dreadful first impression on him, and the man carried an indescribable thuggish air about him.

Yang Ce had also run with the rough crowd, but he was different from Yu Chi. What Yang Ce carried was a cynical, devil-may-care air; Yu Chi, on the other hand, had the manner of a sleazy second-generation rich kid.

Yang Ce dragged Yu Chi to Mingyang Entertainment, handed him straight over to Hou Lin, exchanged a few pleasantries, and fled the company. He truly did not want any further contact with Yu Chi.

Though Yang Ce and Hou Lin exchanged only a few words, Yu Chi heard Hou Lin's "Brother Yang" loud and clear. He had been thinking about whether to lie low and put on an act for a few days at the company, but in that moment he abandoned the idea entirely.

If everyone at the company calls my cousin "brother," then shouldn't they be calling me "big cousin brother"?

"Mom, the job Fifth Uncle found you is really nothing to write home about," Yang Ce finally couldn't hold back his complaints on the way back. "If someone like that got into Dad's company, his colleagues would laugh themselves to death."

Mother Yang's expression wasn't much better either. She hadn't expected Yu Chi to be like this. "Daming, let it go. Fifth Uncle didn't have it easy either. He already warned us about Yu Chi's character, so it's no surprise. Let's just hope he learns to behave."

Hope? Yang Ce shook his head. That seemed unlikely. Yang Ce actually didn't want him to behave—he wanted him to make a mess at the company for a couple of days and then get the hell out. Yang Ce had no time to babysit someone like that.

The steward of the Hawkeye Group knocked on Ouyang Junyuan's office door.

"Come in." Ouyang Junyuan was annoyed beyond words. Company affairs were simply not his forte—his forte was eating, drinking, and having fun. Making him run a business was sheer nonsense.

But his elder brother was dead, and the burden had fallen on his shoulders, forcing him to sit in the office every day. Though there were professional managers on staff, Ouyang Junyuan knew that without someone watching over them, heaven only knew what they'd turn the company into.

All of this was thanks to Yang Ce. Every time he thought of that name, Ouyang Junyuan hated him to the bone and wished he could kill him on the spot. But Ouyang Junyuan had also calmed down considerably, no longer as reckless as before.

Since neither his own father nor Yanchi Xia 001 was a match for Yang Juehuan, then trying to take out Yang Ce with his current strength was nothing but a fool's dream.

Going after Yang Ce for revenge was really just going to Yang Ce to die, so Ouyang Junyuan would absolutely never do such a foolish thing.

Ouyang Junyuan had assumed it was one of the professional managers bringing him documents to sign, but when he looked up and saw the Hawkeye Group steward, he was momentarily stunned. Then he said, "Old Steward, what brings you here?"

The Hawkeye Group steward casually shut the office door and locked it from the inside, then walked up to Ouyang Junyuan and said, "Second Young Master, a friend of mine from the assassin world says he can get in touch with the Butterfly Assassin Group—ranked number one overall in the world assassin rankings."

"The Butterfly Assassin Group?" Ouyang Junyuan's heart immediately surged with excitement. He quickly asked, "You mean the one whose individual fighters are second only to the King of Assassins, but whose overall strength is truly number one—the Butterfly Assassin Group?"
